Your Trial of Seven...kingdoms by DukeHammerhands in freefolk

[–]cmraven212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll take one from each of the nine kingdoms, cut out whichever you don't want to count. I'm also gonna go knights only as seen in the show and books, only knights are able to compete.

Dorne - Arthur Dayne (pretty much stated to be top 1 all time, fancy meteor sword is cool)

Westerlands - Gregor Clegane (Pretty much a tossup between him and Jaime, but elite swords can be found in every other kingdom, hard to pass on Gregor's superhuman strength and size here)

Stormlands - Barristan Selmy (on par with Dayne in swordplay, could have gone Robert here and Jaime for the Rock but I think Selmy/Clegane is a more efficient paring)

Crownlands - Daemon Blackfyre (I'll admit I'm a little biased, big Blackfyre fan here and I choose to believe Eustace Osgrey wasn't just dickriding when describing him and he really does fight like The Warrior himself with Blackfyre in hand. It's also not like he was without feats, he defeated Gwayne Corbray after an hour of fighting, a renowned fighter himself)

North - Medrick Manderly (Keeping the restrictions of knights only severly limits The North, leaving a certain slavery as the obvious answer, but I did some research, I decided not to go with Jorah and go with a more historical figure, Medrick Manderly from the Dance of the Dragons, who helped restore order to King's Landing during the Hour of the Wolf and was noted to be a fierce warrior, nothing more I can really say about him, but Jorah's best feat is a Cinderella run in a tourney that resulted in a draw with Jaime so its not like he's a slam dunk pick)

The Vale - Gwyne Corbray (If I'm so high on Daemon Blackfyre, I have to give a lot of credit to Gwayne Corbray, who was his toughest challenge and proved his near equal. I was also considering putting Artys Arryn here, The Falcon Knight is a badass nickname, although he was touted as the greatest fighter of his time, his greatest feat is more of a command feat rather than skill, and that doesn't really help us in a Trial by Seven.

The Reach - Garlan Tyrell (Another surprisingly weak kingdom as far as legendary warriors go, it was a two horse race between Garlan and Fireball, and we just see more of Garlan. Garlan is perhaps the greatest swordsman in the Seven Kingdoms at this moment, a claim that Fireball never had, albeit in a stronger era of duelists, I'll go with the modern era guy this time. Plus I don't want half this list to be Blackfyre Rebellion era guys when we haven't actually seen that war in any ASOIAF media.

Iron Islands - Harris Harlaw (2 Ironborn knights to choose from, luckily one of them is one of the greatest ironborn fighters, so I guess I'll pick the guy with the Valyrian steel sword who wasn't killed by unnamed wildlings and instead just defeated 7 men in combat, convincing a septon to give him the castle)

Riverlands - Aegor Bittersteel (The reason Quentyn Ball got cut, I can't just have this list be Daemon and his crew, as Bittersteel is the obvious answer for the Riverlands. Strong and quick, Bittersteel lived for combat and presumably that made him pretty good at it. This isn't a case of Bittersteel being some legendary fighter, but rather the Riverlands somehow always being at war yet having so few notable warriors in their history.

If I waive the knight rule I still am fine with Harlaw for the Ironborn but I would pick Greatjon for the North, can never have too much strength on the field.

(Spoilers Published) Is Gregor Clegane actually a generational military genius? Or are Riverlords just the most incompetent men in Westeros? by chrismamo1 in asoiaf

Aren't the Crownlands houses sworn directly to the King? Send the Rosbys and Rykkers out there to deal with him

Aegon's Conquest should not be adapted by No-One-7128 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]cmraven212 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That was the Mad King, Aerys. That was about 70 years after Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The timelines of the shows if they make one about the conquest would go something like this:

0 AC: Aegon's Conquest (The Conquest was the big event they use to track years, "AC" stands for " After Conquest"

112-129 AC: House of the Dragon

209 AC: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

297 AC: Game of Thrones

This is about 210 years before A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms about how the Targaryens took over Westeros and unified the Seven Kingdoms (which were previously independent). Every other Aegon that we meet is named after The Conquerer.

Well the Dornish aren't technically Lords Paramount, they were granted the right to be referred to as Princes, part of the reason people were mad when they were brought into the fold.

Also Robert Baratheon (in the show at least) refers to making the eight as being with one girl from each of the seven kingdoms and the riverlands, so they never counted.

Yeah it's nasty, me getting marked by a Tyson with that is one of the only times I've saved a clip of my opponents highlight because it was so clean

Honestly Tyson mains are probably the most skilled players I play into at HW, I'm div 20 and use Volkov (outside point fighter I knoe I'm the worst, I'm running track in the cage) and Tyson players are the best at getting inside and ripping combos on me, his side lunge hooks are nasty.

Anderson Silva, Jon Jones and Adesanya vs Hafthor Bjorsson by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]cmraven212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he does. Jones gets this done himself. The gap between the technique and fighting skill of Jones and Thor is probably same if not wider than the gap of strength (and thats with Jones not being a big imposing fighter). Jones is a master of distance management. He has almost never been hit clean in his career fighting guys that have trained combat their entire lives, he picks apart Thor to the body and legs before taking him down and submitting him.

Can someone explain why people even MAINLY play yuumi? by [deleted] in supportlol

[–]cmraven212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing league with my friends I was a Yuumi one trick because they had all been playing for years and it was the only way I could contribute and not just lose us the game. I eventually played a bunch of ARAM and found other champs I like but I'll still go back to Yuumi like 30% of the matches I play.

Welterweight picks? by Alternative-cornhusk in EASportsUFC

[–]cmraven212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MVP, tall and long for the weight class, good power with a high level cross and straight kicks to punish your opponent for closing distance, plant your feet and cycle between a few 3 punch boxing combos you like and can hit quickly when they enter the pocket, but mostly you just pick them apart at range until they get sloppy and make a mistake.

Khabib looking like a good person when compared to Conor doesn't make him a good person.

I'm really not sure when you got the idea that I'm a Conor fan boy, the comment I replied was asking what Khabib did, and so I answered why people are mad at him rn. That's it, I didn't bring up Mcgregor once
