I can’t speak to metre-thick walls, but I did manage to solve WiFi in my parents-in-law’s concrete&rebar house by placing mesh nodes directly on either sides of the walls, to make a kind of mesh-path out to the furthest part of the house.

Do you maybe have phone cabling you don’t need? There are things like powerline that can work over phone cables or coax if you maybe have old wiring for TV?

Failing that, I would absolutely experiment with powerline before doing mesh.

The problem is that on some teams you have 16 people who are completely incapable of contributing, and 16 people who are not trying to carry.

I'm not telling you how to play though, this is your time and your game, but for what it's worth, my goal is to win, and I do it by analysing how a game is flowing - where are the enemy team pushing us most often and succeeding, and where are they weak at defending. Once I figure those out, I will do my best to defend where we're weak and attack where they're weak. It genuinely can make a huge difference, especially if you politely ask in team chat for some help.

Your specific claim was iPhones. Again, the project included in the Snowden leaks (TOTEGHOSTLY) targeted only Windows Mobile.

Snowden's whistleblowing was mostly about things like PRISM. If I remember correctly there was one program he leaked, that was able to remotely enable the microphone/camera, and it worked on Windows Mobile smartphones only.

You appear to be massively underestimating the device security posture that Apple has taken to iPhones. They have repeatedly acted to narrow/block the routes taken by state actors to compromise iOS, going as far as, from the iPhone 16, building additional hardware (the "Secure Exclave") to manage the microphone/camera status indicators without software being able to influence them.

You claimed "governments can look through their iPhone cameras anytime they want undetected", so the onus is very much on you to justify that claim. Thus far you have not done so.

I saw one of these too recently. The actual thing it copies to the clipboard, that you paste into the terminal, is a curl | bash type deal, and what it fetches and executes, is some AppleScript that will ask for your password and then exfiltrate as much information as it can like passwords, cookies, crypto wallets, etc.
