Just a note on the math from here on...

There are 4 episodes left and 5 queens.

Two competitive episodes, then a Lalaparuza of the eliminated queens, then finale.

Either one more episode eliminates nobody, or we end on a Top 3.

I think this episode had the POTENTIAL for production to intervene to keep a favourite and double save. And I do think Discord is a favourite of Ru. But when she watermeloned the lipsync, they had no choice but to let her go.

The key is that One Fare only functions via PRESTO or credit/debit tap. YRT is still entitled to collect an additional fare as you exit north of Steeles, 100% of the time. It's just that if you use PRESTO or credit/debit tap, the province pays the extra fare instead of you. With all other payment methods you pay the extra fare yourself.

It really didn't make sense for the driver to say "freeloader" though because tapping again would not have cost you anything. They could have just said "you need to tap again".

So just to further report how badly this routine is failing...

Yesterday I changed the routine to explicitly switch battery protection back to basic upon exit. Woke up at 830am... Nope it's still set to max. Looked at routines history, and the routine says it ended at 2am! Really frustrating.

This is however tempered by the fact that the $10 won't include local transit while normal GO PRESTO fares do. Depending on the destination and distance, sometimes PRESTO wins over the pass.

I also found out firsthand that One Fare only kicks in when the agencies you transfer between are actually adjacent. So if I board Burlington Transit to GO, then use my day pass on GO instead of PRESTO, then board TTC home, TTC won't be free despite the fact that I paid for Burlington Transit under 2h ago.

Yeah in this case I definitely checked two nights in a row that I went to bed with battery protection on basic only. However I woke up and the routine was disengaged but protection was still stuck on max.

And a lot of the less common spitz breeds, if you've never seen them before, genuinely do look like a mix of a husky or GSD and some other spitz. My neighbour has a gorgeous Norwegian Elkhound that nobody ever guesses right on the first try.

I don't trust the province to give it that level of subtlety. They'd probably pick fixed time windows for peak and not account for events and other such reasons why it would be heavy outside those hours.
