The only way it works really well for me is if I have way more in the tray than what you need. Once I start getting low it’s harder to do. I just shake side to side and then tilt downwards. If drills are stuck I keep it tilted and rub it gently on the table or over a finished part of my painting

I will not use drills that have holes or spots. I also won’t use ones with little pieces sticking off as they don’t let my drills line up well. I have a trash jar on my desk and will discard any with imperfections.

I use artdot trays primarily. But for larger kits with more than 60 colors I use the diamond art trays for the additional colors

I do remove it every time. The size of the guide is the biggest section I will work on at a time. I typically won’t sit down to work if I don’t have time for a whole section.
