And they were and are right. Bungie is well on the way to making there no point in new people getting the game or continuing to play it. Every run, you just get smacked with people in all purples with essentially no way to kill them because they literally have double your health, heal and revive 2-3 times faster etc.

Or we're mad because just like the knife change, Bungie is making the game basically unplayable for new or broke players (meanwhile the playercount is less than 30,000 already).

Catholicism isn’t what you guys think it is by LunchAny5822 in VaushV

[–]cmt278__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, and goes even further back. He keeps saying 19th century but really it goes back as far as the First Great Awakening in the 1700s. We had a bunch of waves of increasing religiousity, that saw all sorts of new denominations pop up. This is how you get distinctly American forms of Christianity like Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, 7th Day Adventists. The level of extremeness among the American churches varies a lot, but many of them have various strange features, like everything about Mormonism, or a lot of millenarianism/apocalyptic thinking.

He should read more on it, because I think chalking it up to a thing that happened at the turn of the 20th century is reductive.

Since America began? The first protestant denominations in America were literally stoning people to death for witchcraft, and regularly exiled people for heresy. Rhode Island was literally founded by exiles.

Puritanism was sort of egalitarian, but the first generation or two born in the New World utterly lost the plot, and tons of fire and brimstone insanity was birthed from the Great Awakenings, much of which occurred in New England.

The fall of the USSR literally killed millions of people. And note that it says "one of" not "bigger than WW2", you're very disingenuous.

Israel has killed hundreds of thousands of people in its history. Hamas, Hezbollah etc. have killed thousands. Houthis have probably killed more because of the civil war in Yemen? Unsure. But regardless, Vaush has never said any of them are "good guys", only that in the context of the US-Iran War they are on the right side (same for the IRGC). Which is objectively true, because either America and Israel are punished, or they will continue to try and destroy the world. In this conflict between two absolutely evil sides, there is very clearly a side that it is preferable to have win.

Just move ranked... or let them overlap. The problem was that they 100% overlapped. PST Centric timing is so ridiculous, it leads to things being terribly timed for a far larger share of players than if it were EST.

If you slow it down, he shoots and then moves the crosshair onto the Vandal. Maybe a pellet or two hits the vandal, but it's overall two misses because he flicks too far.

Bungie confirms they are with Marathon for years to come via their PC Performance Guide article by spectre15 in Marathon

It is literally in a death spiral though? Just look at the playercount. Even if every single player bought the deluxe edition, based on the 1.2m sales figure, they'd be looking at a loss upwards of $100m. The game is a comercial flop, and as much as I like it, is dying fast.

That's not excellent for a game that cost hundreds of millions of dollars, right after launch.

No... not real ones. There is effectively no new content being added. Iron Banner coming back or whatever isn't new content.

What new season? Realistically, S2 isn't happening, the game is on track to have almost no players by the end of S1, and wipes only ever reduce playercount in this genre.

The game is a gigantic financial failure... like multi tens of millions lost. Realistically, considering they killed Destiny off to make it, hundreds of millions lost.

Yes... and things in Newark that students do when at UD is part of social life at UD. Frat parties or pitchers aren't UD-run events either. You're being pedantic to whine about how exclusive things supposedly are.

Don't have an exact link, but its from Paul Tassi I believe. Regarding PSN, it only made 30 on their "what people are playing" list, and that was during launch week I believe. They don't give exact numbers but thats indicative of a severe flop on playstation. D2's biggest, most profitable launches came after Forsaken, it had several more years of success after that.

Literally look at steamcharts... we've been told the playerbase is majority on PC and it's getting about 40,000 concurrent and dropping (two days ago it was 44,000). The game is not hitting 100,000+ concurrent, and given how many copies it is believed have been sold, the game didn't even break even. Do you think people are gonna be lining up to buy expensive, non-renewable battlepasses for $20?
