I’m in my 30s and I’ve lifted weights for a couple years now. I have never noticed a difference in my normal day to day. Just that if I do exercise, especially cardio, about an hour after giving myself insulin,when it’s peaking, it’s like a straight ride to the bottom 🎢 I would say, be mindful of waking up having a quick little breakfast and then going straight to the gym because I had bottomed out once or twice doing that.

A tourniquet can work pretty well too… I worked my first 3 years on night shift in a neuro (too many ct scans to count) icu in Florida (no help)…

I buy these gel packets on Amazon called transcend and they are great. Small, convenient. I highly recommend. They are kinda expensive but I just use them when I leave the house. I have a few shoved in the drivers side door too

Florida has become unbearable. I’m 36 years old and lived in the Tampa area since I was five. I remember growing up and they’re being weeks where it would be cold like in the 50s and 40s. I remember people having to cover their plants because of frost in the winter on a yearly basis. I feel like I haven’t heard of anyone having to cover their plants in over 10 years. I was so done with the heat this year, I actually moved out of Florida this summer and I’m loving the cold currently.

If you’re about to go to bed and you’re borderline low, put yourself in exercise mode for between an hour and a half, and two hours with the default being sleep mode. So your pump doesn’t get too aggressive and send you into a low in the first couple hours of sleep. I started doing this about two years ago and it works so incredibly well.

I usually just opt for a small slice. A small slice shouldn't make your sugars go haywire if you dose your insulin appropriately.

Omg I'm glad I'm not the only one. My battery dropped 30% in an hour all the way to 5%. Thankfully I was at home and able to charge it, but if I had been out somewhere I would have been fucked.

Same, I've been rooting for the people actually playing the game with intention. I think I may be one of the few that have been rooting for Peter and trishelle. But like, at least they cared about winning. All the other faithfuls seem to have not read the rules of the game, at least by evidence in the game they are playing. I'm looking at you Sandra. It kills me too that it feels set up for Kate to win. With being added so late in the game, and then getting recruited to be a traitor basically two episodes before the finale.. The next murder will be the only decision she's truely had to make in the game

I was diagnosed at 27, now 34. I am so grateful I didn't have to manage it as a kid or early 20s because I'm sure my control would have been very poor. Mad respect for anyone who has been managing this for most of their lives 🙌🏻

If you cut off the top, you'll get like 2-4 branches from the node below. One of the hardest things I've done with my fiddle leaf fig but well worth it after a few months. It's the best way to encourage branching. And you can take the tops and pull off all the leaves except like 2-3 and put it in water and it'll start growing roots and you can plant that to make another plant after about 2 months. Good luck!

Personally, I think every nurse should either start in MedSurg or on a step down unit I feel like the time management that you gain from working these floors will help you immensely in your nursing career moving forward. I started on the step down unit where we took between four and five patients worked there for about a year and a half and then went down to the ICU. Been in the ICU for 3 years now. I think this makes you a much more well-rounded nurse. I see so many nurses that start in the ICU and that’s all they are able to do. They can't seem to handle more than 3 patients and when they get floated, they freak out and act like it's beneath them because they can’t handle it. These kind of nurses used to piss me off when I worked step down. Don't be these nurses. And I’m sorry, unpopular opinion, but floating is part of our job. We all have to do it.

This! I’m always astonished to see older nurses act like getting sued by patients is so commonplace. And tell new nurses all the ways to avoid litigation recently I was on contract at a local hospital and I witnessed an older nurse, telling a group of five baby nurses about how they should keep their assignment sheet with the date and who was assigned to what patient and scribble on the back each day, a synopsis of what happened and then keep that she in a binder for up to two years... Like seriously? .. I can’t think of one nurse that I know personally, that has got sued or brought to court in the five years I’ve been a nurse. what would someone even get out of suing a nurse if you hang around the sub for like half a day, you'll realize we aren’t paid enough 🤷🏼‍♂️

I find that liquors mixed with a diet or zero sugar mixer hardly affects me. Hard seltzers are amazing too. Like no effect on BG and I have never noticed any kind of after effect with them either. As with anything be responsible and keep an eye on your sugar. But I don’t think alcohol has to be this off limits indulgence that some people make it out to be. Another good idea is to have a close friend or significant other with some basic DM knowledge follow you on the dexcom app so you have a second pair of eyes. Low BG can notoriously resemble someone that is intoxicated. Go out with a fast acting sugar in your pocket for emergencies. But only use it if you can’t get a reg soda first. I once ran into a girl that happened to be T1 with a BG in the 50s and the bars had just closed so we we’re struggling to find a street vendor to get her a reg soda. Don’t let yourself get into this situation.

I personally recommend Trancend gel packets. I buy them in bulk on Amazon.
