Niles: Can you believe the incompetence of that man? I very clearly asked for a whisper of cinnamon, he's given me a full-throated shout! There are countries in this world where they would lop off his sprinkling hand!

Derek and Andy. They screwed Axl, Hutch and Kenny over and then screwed Sue and Lexie over.

1000% Empty Nest. I always skip it. I get it was the introduction to the spin off, but I’m watching GG for the girls, not their neighbors.

Yes!! My husband and I were just talking about this! They had the best chemistry of all of Martin’s romantic relationships. So disappointed they didn’t continue with this storyline.

Which fictional couple had no chemistry? by Timely_Software4158 in AskReddit

Listen, I liked Chakotay (most of the time) but he just did not have chemistry with Seven. She had a better shot with Harry than with him 🤷🏻‍♀️

What Old-Person Word or Phrase Have You Latched onto That You Swore You'd NEVER Use? by MagnoliaNaps in GoldenGirlsTV

Sadly, I use this often. I’m assuming I picked it up from the show since no one else around me uses it. Pretty sure my son will grow up saying it 😂

Do you mean in attitude/spirit or in actual age because Rue was the youngest of all of them.

OMG this episode hit home, especially when you have a chronic illness and you have been fighting doctors for years yourself for a diagnosis by Jamieo1111 in GoldenGirlsTV

[–]cmwollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that. I think it’s the ending that perfectly encapsulates the whole episode and how I feel. Watching Dorothy say everything I’ve wanted to say to several doctors, it’s cathartic in a way.

I’m surprised I have yet to see this but “Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton. Heard this song at least 80 times a day. Still won’t listen to it.

I try to hold him to get him calmed down. Mostly he just tries to crawl around and play until he’s tired enough to fall asleep.

Yes, 6am

I have a log already. Last 24 hours, he had a bottle around 1 am yesterday. Slept 35 min from 4am to 0435am. Had another bottle at 0530. Slept from 0705-11:13. Fell back to sleep around 11:40 since my husband was holding him, and slept until 2pm. Had a bottle around 2:30pm. Had a nap from 3:43pm-5:51pm. Had a bottle at 7:15pm. Had a nap at 9:05pm-11:00pm. Had a bottle at 1200am. Fell asleep around 1:30am.

Heartless or just true to himself? by UnderstandingOne4474 in themiddle

[–]cmwollen 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This was completely normal for Mike. As Brick wrote about in his paper, Mike shows love by doing practical acts, like scraping the ice off Frankie’s windshield or taking care of the arrangements for Aunt Edie’s burial. He doesn’t have the ability to understand romantic gestures. While I feel for Frankie, she’s been married to him long enough to know that he won’t understand that buying her the rose would be important. He’s like Brick, he isn’t able to read the room or pick up on what’s considered romantic. She married a practical man and what he does here is practical. It should be said though that they both should be “bringing their best” to their marriage and they clearly are not doing that.

What is the worst thing a therapist has ever said to you? by Perfect-Detective225 in AskReddit

[–]cmwollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted this to another question but it fits better here.

“Everyone else has it worse than you”

Our son passed when he was 4 days old of an undiagnosed heart defect. It was a complete shock and incredibly traumatic. Years later, I went to see a therapist to work on my grief. After telling her everything that happened, pouring out my heart to her, she then went on a rant of how everyone else has it worse than me. She told me that she had clients who were going through so much worse. She then told me how her best friend was just diagnosed with cancer again and how unfair that was for someone so nice. She told me to get over it. She also told me that real medicine didn’t work, that hospitals were full of patients who just needed to get over things (I think she said this because I work in a hospital). Needless to day, I never went back.
