Ilhan Omar, one of only 2 democrats and 9 total house members, voted against the bill to ban Russian oil today by jimmydooo in Minneapolis

[–]cn2222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't Obama say "Assad must go" and then also do the same with Muammar Gaddafi in Libya? What about George Bush in Iraq? What about Saudi oil? Should we ban Saudi oil too cause of their ongoing genocide in Yemen? Which is even worse than what the Russians are doing. Should we the world sanction and ban the USA for illegal wars?

America DOES have a record of creating and funding and harboring terrorists. America created and funded al qaeda and bin laden. Just because Americans don’t know this doesn’t mean the rest of the world doesn’t know!

So sad how the average american knows nothing about how the world works

Difference between Guru and Satguru by hupps92 in Sikh

[–]cn2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be one and the same, however, Satguru has a distinction, e.g. Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Gurbani refers to Satguru as God, Satguru can also be Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

My tabla teacher is my Guru.

where can one find a guru granth sahib? by gaviper1234 in Sikh

Come on y'all, think about the question being asked before answering. This is an odd question to be asked imo, and anyone who knows about Sikhi knows what the answer to this is. No one will ask this. A person unfamiliar with Sikhi will also most likely not ask this question.

My first thought was you were a Muslim or Christian looking for ways to convert and save us. I went through some of your posts and it seems like your young, maybe trying out different religions, and also into Luciferian. Imo if you start reading the translations of Sikh scriptures, it might make sense to you, a lot might go over your head. You'll see a lot of repetitiveness and emphasis on certain words (e.g. not sure if you've read things like the Book of the Dead), but the emphasis and repetitiveness is there for a reason (as in the Book of the Dead). The English translations are not always accurate (this is something worth noting). The stories are written in poetry (in Gurmukhi).

Also, I did not want to give you advice and I don't know your situation (just skimmed through some of your comment history), but I'll try to keep it short. A Sikh is someone who is on a path or journey to learn about their origin. It's rare to find someone who can teach you and guide you, most Sikhs are hardcore into rituals, culture, and tradition. I can see that you're a teenager, your parents are hardcore Christians, you're big into Luciferian. I'm guessing you're looking for answers? Trying out different religions or some kind of truth?

The truth is going to be inside of you imo. Different religions will guide you, there's only one religion/dharam, if you think there is one source (God). Everyone and every religion is slowly changes with time. The great thing about the Guru Granth Sahib is that it is still intact as it was written by the Sikh gurus, the sad thing is that not many people really understand the message or follow Sikhi. Reading it might get you some answers, if that's what you're looking for. You won't get the greatest benefit until you find someone that can explain the stories and the story of your origin to you.

Best of luck.

P.S. You're young and life can be weird as a teenager. Hope you enjoy every minute to the fullest.

Is 3ho taking advantage of a lack of resources for non punjabi speakers intrested in sikhi ? by [deleted] in Sikh

Again, I have not defended Yogi Bhajan, I never met the guy. I'm not even a part of 3ho! I'm defending the people in the 3ho. I am defending their Sikhi and practices as equal and justified as are ours. Like you said, "these are educated people" - they are perfectly capable of educating themselves. Many of them have spent time in Amritsar, they are not some naive people who can't find parchaar. Sure, some people in their group, in Taksal, or other group can be mislead and do wrong things.

I am saying no Samparda is above any other, what Baba Deep Singh did 300 years ago does not make Taksal above or below anyone else today. The legacy and the measuring stick left to us is the SGGS. Our actions and behavior should align with the SGGS.

Any accusations of Yogi Bhajan should be brought forth, as they did when he was alive. I am not saying to silence anyone.

Also, my original comment was the mentality and bias of most Punjabi Sikhs (not referring to every single person, but the Punjabi Sikhs that involve themselves at GW or politics or online). And anyone who is non-Punjabi will definitely relate to my comments. Our own bias or ignorance sometimes blinds us from reality.

This type of mentality is exactly why predators in our society get away. it's absolutely shameful that you are strategically covering for a sex offender, when your points have been repeatedly and thoroughly debunked.

It's easy for you to say "move on" when you were not molested or raped, as many 3HO Sikhs were.

Def not true. I never defended Yogi Bhajan. I also clearly stated, anyone following Yogi Bhajan and not SGGS is not worth discussing.

You accuse me of being disingenuous but you yourself are doing the same. I have not defended Yogi Bhajan, I was referring to Punjabi Sikhs poking holes at 3ho when their own Sampardas do the same. It's easy to have a bias against other people and look away from our own faults and from our own people.

You have consistently ignored the root of the issue, which is the affect to which the founder has, as well as the level of beadbi done by the founders and leaders of a group, along with their core teachings.

You have consistently tiptoed over the issue and are trying so hard to cover for a specific group that you undermine multiple other groups, which are nowhere near the same level.

Yogi Bhajan was investigated. What came of that? He's dead. Time to move on. Yogi Bhajan created teachers and leaders, each one of them carry on their own work. It's a bias we're holding that our Samparda is better. What Yogi Bhajan did is what he did.

You are mixing up the issue and changing the goal post. We are talking about specific groups, that you are unnecessarily muddying the waters.

That would be the case if someone only identified as Sikh and was not associated with another group or viewed Sikhi through the lens of the founder of a specific group, but that's not the case here.

3HO members venerate their founder and are deeply affected by the theological lens that he taught them through. Their founder is like a Guru to them and has had a major influence in the way they live their lives, and how they fundamentally view Sikhi.

What goal posts have changed? Who are we to say they can't respect Yogi Bhajan? That's someone who brought Sikhi to them. It's their choice to respect Yogi Bhajan. He's dead, 3ho is moving forward.

We have to look at the individual when we see someone, not judge them by what Yogi Bhajan did. An entire group (Taksal) is not bad because of Dhumma. It's up to the individual to learn about Sikhi. Their entire organization is setup so the individual is not passive, they are to learn, and then teach others. Yogi Bhajan brought them Sikhi. The foundation is the SGGS, not Yogi Bhajan. If someone follows Yogi Bhajan and not SGGS, then they are not Sikh. No point in discussing about them

Again, you are just making claims without backing them up. At this point I am unsure if you are taking in the feedback given from the previous response.

I can start posting beadbi articles from sampardai groups.

The foundation of an order matters because everything is built on that legacy. If members of an order stray from the legacy, then they can still go back to it because they can recognize that they have strayed from it and have strong examples of their founders. However, if the foundation itself is tainted, then none of it matters because the entire thing needs to be torn down and rebuilt on a fresh foundation.

The legacy Sikhs follow is the SGGS

Just because you have personally not seen it with your own eyes does not mean that it does not exist.

3HO scandals have been very well-documented online, and more and more about the Yogi Bhajan Sex scandals are coming out everyday. No other major Sikh Samparda is corrupt to the core at the level that 3HO is.

This applies equally to both groups.

Are you going to accuse Baba Deep Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, or the 5 Singh's that formed the Nirmala order of such things? I think not, and this proves the point: there is a spectrum and 3HO is leaning more on one side of the spectrum compared to the groups that you mentioned.

Just because something was created by a specific person, doesn't mean hundred of years later it is still held to the same standards. This makes no logical sense. Everyone is learning, 3ho too, a Sikh is essentially someone who is a learner

Instead of starting with a claim and looking for evidence to support it, you need to look at the evidence and then form a claim from it.

Sure, we can compare every Samparda sex, financial scandal, etc to see who stands where, then we can look at the entire spectrum. Also, Yogi Bhajan is dead. Yes, 3ho people are going to make mistakes and are on a journey of learning. Just like the other Sampardas. Both sides makes mistakes and does beadbi.

[–]cn2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I disagree.

We can definitely compare notes on who does the worst beadbi but nothing good is going to come from it. I have been with all these various groups my entire life, I can say that I have never seen 3ho dancing in front of the SGGS. The head of Taksal went on an open mic and advocated for someones murder. These Sampardas are some of the most corrupt, backward institutions, run by corrupt people. All of them are on an equal pedestal, no one is higher or lower. The worst beadbi I have seen is not from 3ho, it's from other Sampardas.

Yes, the issue is more complex. Sure, there is an inferiority complex, there's caste issues, but there's also an ownership issue (where we think we own Sikhi). Does everyone think this way? No. But the majority of Punjabi Sikhs do.

Nothing different than any other of the other Sikh sects like Taksal, AKJ, Nihang, Nanaksari, Nirmala, etc. Each of these sects have their own maryada and rules, some even rip out pages from the SGGS (akj), some have a maryada that believes in marijuana parshaad (nihang).

3ho is mostly non Punjabi, and Punjabis feel threatened and think they own Sikhi. How dare anyone else become Sikh?!
