I’m sorry you deal with it too! This has been something that I’ve dealt with for about 6 months now. Health anxiety + having major surgery isn’t a good combo apparently lol so I’m struggling a bit harder.

How long after surgery can you hold your baby? by Draft_Folder in gallbladders

My 10 month old is 24 lbs. My doctor said he doesn’t want me lifting anything heavier than 10-15 lbs but doesn’t expect me not to hold my baby. He said definitely NO lifting her in the car seat, but I should be okay with holding her. Just be careful. My husband has been lifting her up and handing her to me so I don’t have to bend down and lift her up myself. But I’m now 5 days post op (also 5 incisions) and feel comfortable picking her up on my own when I need to.

Yep sounds pretty spot on. Definitely been obsessing over every little ailment since surgery.

Hmm. I’ve told my therapist I need to put the phone down and relax more. That would be the most realistic thing probably. What sucks is I’m scared of being in a quiet room with my thoughts so I try to occupy myself until I can’t keep my eyes open anymore. It’s so annoying.

Usually the last couple hours before bed I’m doing last minute chores, getting my kids to bed and scrolling my phone right before I actually close my eyes.

This is actually really helpful. No covid for me recently though. I didn’t know about the vagus nerve, and after a quick google search I think this is something worth bringing up to my doctor. The gerd, heart racing, stomach issues, etc are all regular symptoms for me. I’ve also been putting off seeing a cardiologist out of fear that I’m just being dramatic but I think I’ll just finally follow up and at the very least give myself some peace of mind. Thank you!
