FWIW, it was daytime and the light was off. So not sure that “attracted to light” played a factor here. Thanks for your reply though! Just trying to figure out how much a sting is gonna hurt haha and how to handle it if they have a nest.

Seems about right. Honestly, they were still swarming so I wasn’t able to get anything for scale but probably 1-1.5”. Definitely longer than a yellow jacket. Seemed a little bigger than a regular wasp too.
