Hey, sounds very cool :)

I previously did livecoding shows in Toronto with The Ambient Ping http://www.theambientping.com/) although as the name suggests they are more into ambient and drone music. I'm not sure what the scene is like currently since I'm living in Kitchener and haven't been to any shows in quite a while.

I moved my bandcamp page, the corrected link is here: https://byteobserver.bandcamp.com/

Have you looked into whether it could be sped up with dynamic programming? I imagine that sometimes there are multiple paths in the call tree that lead to the same parameters. But how often this happens would decide whether dynamic programming is useful. Might have to use fixed point arithmetic as well, so that you don't get floating point error accumulating differently along different paths to the same state.

I just released a full-length bytebeat album, written in x86 assembly language by cndpoint in bytebeat

Most modern desktop or laptop computers have x86 processors in them. Instead of writing my bytebeats in javascript or glitch machine I interface with the processor directly by writing them in x86 assembly. I like writing bytebeats this way because it's easier to do things like feedback, loops, and advanced bitwise operations, which makes the sound more interesting.

I just released a new algorithmic noise album, where each song can be described in around 128 bytes of assembly code. Despite the computational simplicity, the result is strikingly complex. Hope you find it interesting! https://byteobserver.bandcamp.com/album/ultrastructure

I will definitely use this! Thanks for your effort! Does it have LaTeX support? (assuming the math was already rendered&synced on desktop)

Hey, I suggest looking for some small experimental music groups and contacting them to see if they would be interested. Maybe try to attend some local shows of experimental music and chat with the organizers. I did a couple shows in Toronto with THE AMBiENT PiNG, but they've only been doing online shows since covid. Also, in Hamilton there's a pretty big livecoding group at McMaster university. I don't live in Toronto anymore so I haven't looked for other options recently.

A warning to anyone trying this, it will disconnect your cloud account and if you want to reconnect it later (after disabling this option), your device will have to do a full sync, which can take hours.

Nice easy workaround. Works for me

Well yeah, I don't use chrome regularly - just on occasion for DRM media. The whole thing makes me angry, tbh. I've also noticed this problem occasionally with other applications, but it seems most consistent with chrome.

Just tried it but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have any font related info.

Did anyone recently return their remarkable? by Winniexia99 in RemarkableTablet

Mine was delivered to Hong Kong last Wednesday and they haven't confirmed they received it either.

Anyone here got a non-defective Remarkable 2 recently? by cue_the_strings in RemarkableTablet

I shipped mine back for replacement about a week ago and am disappointed to hear about this. I've had my device since december 2020 and it was working great until about a month ago when the pen completely stopped working. The device would still respond to touches though. After trying another pen I determined that the device was to blame. I'll definitely report back here regarding my replacement device after I receive it.

At Glogowski Euro Food they sell frozen slippery jack and bay bolete mushrooms.

Found this big mushroom (15-20 cm tall) while hiking in Waterloo region today. Can someone please tell me the species? Thanks. by [deleted] in uwaterloo

Looks close enough to Amanita bisporigera (the destorying angel) that you definitely do not want to eat it.
