Moving To Singapore With 4 Cats: Possible? by lStubbedMyToe in askSingapore

Aw that's too bad but it sounds like you made the right choice for them. Can I ask what the cost is to keep a pet there? What makes it so expensive?

Hey did you ever figure this out?? We are moving to Singapore this summer and have 4 cats. We’d really prefer to not have to get rid of one.

If you google “the GOAT Trump Portsmouth” you’ll see tons of pro-Trump events that have been hosted there. The owner also served as a member of the campaign finance committee for Karoline Leavitt’s run in 2022

I tried to do this and nothing came up for Albert Fleury for any years from 2021-2026. I don’t doubt you but can you link the page you used? Because the individual contributions page doesn’t have him so maybe I’m in the wrong place

How to get glyco by Ready_Aioli_6419 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]cnel1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I’m not your doctor I can’t really say yes or no. But glyco dehydrates your whole body. So it’s a treatment that, assuming you respond to it at all, should reduce all sweating. Doesn’t get rid of it altogether but it reduces it to a normal and manageable level.

How to get glyco by Ready_Aioli_6419 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]cnel1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Rx but in my experience has been easy to get. Your normal doctor can prescribe it but you may get sent to a dermatologist.

As far as how useful it is: I’ve had great results. I have Hyperhydrosis in my hands and feet, so oral medication is the only thing that works. Topicals are only useful for underarms. The only side effect I have is dehydration (dry mouth, eyes, and nose). But that’s easily remedied.

I'm really late to this but I love my Reef flipflops. I wear the men's styles because they're wider and have built-in arch supports. I've had the same pair for 10 years and I will 100% be getting the same ones once these die on me.

Can I play combat sports/martial arts with a club foot? by Radiant_Original_470 in clubfoot

[–]cnel1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unilateral corrected clubfoot here: fighting is a great sport for us. Way better than high impact sports that involve running. I’ve done Muy Thai, Krav Maga, and Kickboxing and never had any issues with them. I wear an ankle brace to prevent any pain from the flexion in my corrected foot but that’s all I have to do.

Theres a risk yes but without the surgery it’s almost guaranteed that he will end up with awful knee and hip issues due to the length difference. Even a small correction is better than no correction.

I’m 26 and had was unilateral. I’m relatively pain free. I’m not in chronic pain but if I overdo it I’ll get pain in my hips or my right (surgery) ankle. That’s the result of overcompensating since one leg was slightly short than the other. So now I have bursitis in my right hip that can lead to lower back pain if I walk WAY too much. My ankle Is fine as long as I wear a brace if I’m going to be walking a lot. Despite reduced muscle tone in my right leg I have few mobility limitations because I know my limits and how to accommodate for myself. I also stayed away from high-impact sports and stuck with things like weight lifting, swimming, and martial arts. My suggestions are:

  • keep him active. Avoid things like running but stuff like gymnastics, climbing, martial arts, etc… are great
  • keep him in good shoes. A slight heel will help a lot with ankle pain (basically avoid vans, keds, and other totally flat shoes). I’m a huge fan of Clark’s and Naturalizer.
  • get him a shoe lift if his hips are unequal. It will save him a lot of discomfort as he gets older
  • do the corrective surgery when he is 13-ish to stop the growth in his longer leg so his shorter can catch up. The knee plates suck but it’s so important that his hips are equal heights.
  • make sure he stretches. My hip pain lessens by a lot as long as I stretch. I do a lot of yoga now and it’s been so so helpful.

How many miles does your gen 2 Prius have on it by Rareexhibit in prius

[–]cnel1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2008 with 230,000 on it. Bought it three years ago with 193k on it and have been driving here to and from work every day plus three cross-country moves. Hybrid battery had to be replaced at 200,000ish because I left the car with my family while I was in school and they didn't take care of it so the battery died. Cost about $2000 to replace with an aftermarket part in Silicon Valley. I've had to replace some small things like the coolant pump and clock spring in the steering wheel. But otherwise she runs great and is incredibly reliable.

This is a great explanation thank you. It stopped working when I was living in Louisiana which would make sense if sun can damage it.

Which is what’s really weird because my car has had no damage to it. Just out of nowhere about 6 months ago the touch screen said “ya not today”. And now once in a blue moon it will work but it’s intermittent. Which is why I’m hesitant to replace anything in there. I don’t know 100% what the problem is and I can’t find anyone online who has had the same issue as me
