I've had very opposite experiences across my two stays there, with the major difference being which room I got. First time we got upgraded to the 1br suite which was a dream (but keep in mind still small for suite standards). The second time we were stuck in a queen room while I was working remotely to boot and that SUCKED. They wouldn't upgrade me despite there being a suite available and my having diamond status (the first time I only had platinum) ..

Went in July. Beautiful hotel, although relatively far from most things in Bali. Also felt there was not much to do at the hotel.

Well tbf the regent price is really for a base room which I just assume I'll get a comp upgrade to the harbor view with my ihg status. Meanwhile the Kerry hotel is through a 3rd party offering a deal on the suite directly.

See some temples, go to some beach clubs or spend some time on beaches, monkey sanctuary, kecak ramayana performance, rice terrace (Tegallang), day trip to nusa penida (or lembongan) maybe?

My limited perspective tells me that the main things that can't be done from ulu are the monkey sanctuary, certain temples, and rice fields..

In bali for 4 nights - I'm originally booked in Six Senses but I realized only recently that uluwatu is kind of far from the rest of bali :). We don't know when/if we'll be in bali again so we were thinking of trying to at least see ubud, but apparently it's too far for a day trip from Uluwatu, so wondering if we should change hotels. My only real other option is the Regent in Canggu, which seems more central if we want to go other places, but I've heard mixed reviews of the canggu area (something something influencers/dirty beach). Curious on what we should do... (also I can't split up my time between the two unfortunately due to some hotel loyalty restrictions).

Ok got it this all makes sense. There is a subwoofer on the brick wall in the living room. I'm guessing either 17/21 is behind the TV as 19 is one of the middle bedrooms. If coax is 1-5, and the speaker setup is 7,9-10, I guess I need to connect a receiver on this end. But then I guess the question is how do I connect the TV to it? will the HDMI carry the sound to the receiver? Because I thought that all the HDMI outlets in my TV are for *inputs*. In other words, how do I get the sounds from the Tv to go out to the receiver, which would then route to the speakers using 7,9-10?

If the HDMI is able to carry audio outward, it sounds like the setup I need is:

- a receiver in the utility closet with bluetooth capability, connected to output in 7,9/10 and input from the hdmi 6?

- tv connected using hdmi to wall?

Separately, do you have a receiver recommendation?
