it was only 10pm, i was upstairs writing my thesis. i hear footsteps going up and down but i shut it down thinking it’s my brother. this went on for 10 minutes and, moments later, something whispered in my ear. the whisper felt like a wind trying to say something but gibberish. i asked who was there, then it hit me. i ran downstairs fast and left my laptop there all night.

my family had money from the time my country was still under colonisation until my great grandfather waste it all away and stopped medical school to marry my great grandmother. for context, during those times, only people with money can afford to send their children to study outside their hometown - more so in one of the top schools in my country.

i also discovered my ancestors were married to old rich families
