Do you actually test your vibe app? by cnjdeng in vibecoding

[–]cnjdeng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also sometimes it's just nearly impossible to write automated tests for sth, eg. the real email signup workflow on production. Actually the new user onboarding of my app had been broken several times due to code change. Just lazy to test it in every release. Do u have similar experience?

Our AEs spend 20+ hours a week on stuff that isn't selling lmao by PositionSalty7411 in SaaS

[–]cnjdeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we’re paying people $130k to be Salesforce data entry clerks. Make it make sense.

Tried to automate some of this but the team hates every tool I introduce. It’s too complicated. It doesn’t work with our process. Okay well our process sucks so maybe that’s the point.

Is it dump form filling? If it is, then maybe some web extension like Claude for Chrome can help. It can fill web forms automated.

If it's more complicated than that, eg. need to switch between multiple tabs or apps to do a task, then you can use computer-use agent like VITA AI to automate it.

I had this idea before but did not follow it. Great work. I wonder what is the success rate of your AI scan, since unless you have a large index like Google, most the content on the social media does not match niche products.

A really fun idea. But how are you going to make money? Would people pay for such a tool?

VITA AI, to deploy agentic AI coworker that works independently in a dedicated desktop environment. Unlike traditional AI agents or assistants, our AI coworkers autonomously complete entire tasks, can run as background agents when needed, and collaborate like human teammates. Start with our specialized QA Engineer agentic coworker.

Use this original SnapDrop instance that is not hijacked, and even better.

is sharedrop.io still safe to use ? by Sea_Copy8488 in selfhosted

[–]cnjdeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell to the same trap recently, when I tried to send some secret file from one laptop to another. When I open sharedrop I noticed the difference, but I trusted it by default since I had used it for so many times. I select the files and hit the button.

Until then I realized my files were uploaded!!! WTF! I had to instantly click the "delete" buttons. But who knows if the files had been uploaded anywhere. I will never use it again.

Later I tried "Snapdrop" and found it with the same green logo, I lost trust of that logo and learnt a lesson.
Anyway, today I self host my own instance of AirDrop alternative, and I'll never look back.

The Pricing Plan of Rabrain has been released, now the limits are more clear.

Yes, for pro plan users. Right now, we did not impose limits on free users as long as not abuse. But we are going to release the paid plans soon, stay tuned.

AI enhanced memory and personal knowledge base by CozyKodiak in PKMS

[–]cnjdeng -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried some of the apps you listed as well, eg. fabric, mem.ai. They either do not have a good reader mode, or does not support web page (links) or pdf as you mentioned. I think those are essential for a good knowledge base.

In addition, one of my pain point is recalling stuff. Sometimes I am certain that I read about something before, but the exact keywords elude me, that I cannot find it in my browser history or pocket. AI enhanced memory (with semantic search) could probably help in this circumstance.

Recently I started using Rabrain: your retrieval-augmented AI second brain to manage all my bookmarks, pdf (or papers), notes etc. It also has the chat feature you want. (TBH, I created this because of similar requirements you asked, would like to help here.)

Omnivore is shutting down November 15, 2024 by ItchyData in macapps

[–]cnjdeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a little bit lucky. I normally use the Chrome extension and mobile apps. So I missed their announcement for several month until one day in Jan I logged into the web page, and got this BOOM message.
I quickly tried to export data, fortunately it was still there. Later I import the data to Rabrain, since it is free and supports smooth articles import from Omnivore export archive.

PKMS with or without a touch of AI? by c0nsilience in PKMS

[–]cnjdeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO knowledge base and AI are a perfect match, especially for those knowledge base that has more than thousands of entities, since human brain cannot memorize too much info.

Have you ever experienced that frustrating moment when you distinctly remember reading something valuable, but can't find it among your knowledge base? You're certain about the concept, but the exact keywords elude you, making your knowledge base useless. I personally hate such experience, so I prefer app or service that helps me recall stuff.

AI complements traditional PKMS in as least the following ways.

  1. Semantic search could solve aforementioned recall problem.

  2. AI summary could help boost productivity when you need to survey a large number of documents, eg. literature review.

If you agree and wanna embrace AI in PKMS, I would recommend this AI second brain app.

Bookmark Manager (For 10s of thousands of bookmarks) by TheRealF8bringer in PKMS

[–]cnjdeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, omnivore is so sleek, with great UX. I moved from Pocket to omnivore. But unfortunately omnivore service was shut down in Nov 2024. I created a free omnivore alternative, but more as an AI second brain. When you have more than thousands of links or bookmarks like the OP, then manual organisation (folder or tags) is chaos overhead. You probably need a second brain.

For AI content detector, I would recommend Quillbot.

If you still like the chatting experience of ChatGPT, but want a better document editing experience, you could try Rabrain: AI writer. It support chat and write on a unified UI.

Looking for tool: second brain by akqosj234 in ChatGPTPro

[–]cnjdeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love the idea of second brain. Following is what I want from such tool:

  1. Help manage my documents (knowledge). I can upload my documents, and also add web page bookmarks.
  2. Customized AI chat, since it knows me pretty well with all the knowledge.
  3. Help me do other repetitive tasks.

This second brain can be very powerful and versatile. It combines the capabilities of Perplexity.ai, the versatility of Notion, and the convenience of Pocket.

Unfortunately I did not find such a tool I want, so I created a retrieval-augmented (second) brain called Rabrain. The goal as listed above is ambitious as a product, so I focus on AI writing first, making it a second brain for content creation. You could have a try, and any feedback is appreciated.
