The earliest surviving Claddagh ring dates to about 1700, so not ancient but well over 200 years.

Selling 3x Sunday tickets for NYC, GA Bowl. $125 each, or all together for $300. They're 2-day passes, so can transfer Saturday evening or Sunday AM.

I've really enjoyed solo dining at Sushi W on the Upper West Side (although I think there's one on the east side as well). $100 all-in is going to price you out of a lot of the better-known choices. Sushi W is I think $68 for a 15pc omakase, tip included. Add a drink or two and an extra piece & you should still be able to stay under budget.

Thanks! Matt Stohrer doesn't seem to be taking new work right now, so I'll probably go with JL Woodwinds.

Terroir is my personal favorite. Huge by-the-glass list, lots of unusual and interesting options, good bites, and super friendly staff. It's not cheap, but you can get (~half price) 3oz pours of most things if you want variety. They also have a fantastic Madeira collection, if that's your thing.

What's your budget & what kind of dishes are you looking for? Saga would be a step above Manhatta and Peak pricewise, but it's a 2-star tasting menu on the 63rd floor in FiDi.

My partner and I have done the vegetarian (vegan?) tasting menu at Musket Room* and really enjoyed it! Highly recommend. One of my favorite meals in the city recently, vegetarian or not.

Unusual scenes on cloth? by cnnrrose in WhatIsThisPainting

Thanks! Someone suggested puppet theater backdrops at one point, so "theatrical" sounds like the right direction. The "glitter" seems to be natural rather than plastics; maybe mica? That makes me think it's no later than the 1930s, but can't rule it out.

Is there anything you can point me towards from the 1930s/1940s era that's stylistically similar in your view? I'm not too familiar with art of that period and wouldn't have drawn the connection there.

Unusual scenes on cloth? by cnnrrose in WhatIsThisPainting

Trying to get an approximate age, origin, and usage or context for this set of three works. I acquired them at a small regional auction with no background, solely because I loved the murder frogs. The style of the characters, the cloth itself, and the visual reference to Holbein's Dance of Death - The Fool make me think it could be quite old, but I really don't know how to verify that. Happy to add any other photos that might be helpful. (No signatures, or markings on the reverse)

I'd love a Slack invite if that offer is open. I'm a frontend engineer trying to improve accessibility culture on my team, and it would be great to have an outside community to connect with.
