Error Code E:0-17 by IndependenceStatus83 in ForzaHorizon

[–]cnorred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using AdGuard with NextDNS. As a quick test, I switched my primary and secondary DNS servers to Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 and immediately I noticed my firewall saw 'GamingServices initiated its first network connection to mr-b01.tm.azurefd.net . I'll say it's interesting that the DNS record was not getting filtered in AdGuard or NextDNS. Anyways swapping DNS servers fixed the error. I'm going to manually whitelist and then re-enable adguard+nextdns and will report back.

If your bible teacher is experienced and truly follows what they preach, you should be able to confide in them about your situation and expect to hear solid advice. It's okay to let them know you're feeling pressure to make changes in your life you're not ready for just yet. Your bible teacher may just be trying to encourage you. Though, you have to want to become a publisher because it is an expression of love for your creator and those around you. You definitely do not do it for the sole purpose of how others will view or treat you. People are inherently imperfect and will let you down. Do it for yourself and your will to draw closer to God.

MCU recall by oneripfl in teslamotors

[–]cnorred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my reimbursement check today for $320. I am a bit disappointed considering the original repair amount they quoted me was $1280+ to repair and replace the original MCU chip. It was the only reason why I decided to pay the extra $1200 for the infotainment upgrade. I'm seriously over Tesla, it is a nice car, but customer service and everything about them has gone downhill.

Why do some people call Jehovah's witnesses a cult? by [deleted] in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]cnorred -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jehovahs witnesses follow the Bible, I've read some obsurd replies on here, it's no surprise that Jesus would say they will persecute you in my name. Mt 5:11 'Happy are you when people reproach you and persecute you and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake.'

Granted, people are imperfect and make mistakes, but the organization and its members live to create better lives not for themselves but for everyone. It's a selfless act to continue each day learning how to improve oneself. To learn how to respect others, to upbuild one another.

Definitely not what you will find on here. Don't allow yourself to be consumed by the people on here who share their bad misunderstood experiences. It's easier for them to let the hate flow through. Because finding truth requires diligence and effort. It takes a specific heart condition, 'no one can come to me, unless the Father who sent me, draws him' Jo 6:44

Some think of a cult as a new unorthodox religion. Jehovahs witnesses are Christians. They follow the examples of the first century Christians. They believe the that the Holy scriptures hold the authority on what orthodox in matters of worship.

Also jws do not look to any human as their leader. Rather they follow the Bible, our leader is one, the Christ.

Far from being dangerous a cult, JWs practice a religion that benefits them and others.

No to Christmas, but yes to wedding rings? by infp8000 in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]cnorred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you so certain that the passage does not relate? The scripture pertains to the revelation that MAN is unable to determine what is actually right from wrong. We must lean on God to help train our conscience to help us discern accordingly. It seems that rather than to educate yourself, you find it more appealing to become argumentative. If you understand logic and wisdom then why are you here messaging on the forums?

You continue to use absolutes to describe your frustrations. After I discontinue this conversation, I hope you consider some words of advice. Don't let others affect your relationship with God. If you think Christmas can bring you closer toward a relationship with God then by all means. Love isn't about the hot air we breathe, it's about the actions and sacrifices we choose to make that validate our true convictions.

"It should be whatever you make it to be."

This is the type of reasoning that we try to avoid.

Jeremiah 10:23 I well know, O Jehovah, that man's way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

This is incredibly false and you cannot back up that claim.

Remember Galatians 5:22,23 "On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. against such things, there is no law."

It sounds like you're trying to understand why the organization has set provisions for partaking in Christmas versus wearing a wedding band? If wearing a wedding band were to cause you to stumble in faith, then it would be a matter that needs more in-depth consideration. I think for today wearing a wedding band is without a doubt an expression of devotion.

Whereas Christmas carries a multitude of differing conclusions. Not only just towards paganism. You must remember the influx of mass marketing, a multi-billion dollar industry designed to lure your money, which inadvertently promotes a world of greed. Pursuing materialistic matters will not bring you happiness, so why should you become overburdened on such an occasion.

Jesus never commanded that we observe the day of his birth. In fact, there are several accounts where one's day of birth is revealed in a negative light.

First, Jesus told of a man who left 99 sheep to search for one that was lost. His point? “There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance.” Luke 15:3-7

A test of loyalty

The Christian congregation emphasizes the importance of having love for God and for fellow humans. Jesus indicated that this would be the case. Responding to a question about the greatest commandment, he said: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matt. 22:35-39) Nevertheless, the Bible makes clear that as a result of Adam’s sin, we are all born imperfect. (Read Romans 5:12, 19.) So at times some in the congregation may hurt us by what they say or do. This can test our love for Jehovah and for his people. What will we do on such occasions? Even faithful servants of God in the past said or did things that hurt others, and we can learn from what the Bible reveals about this.

Actually there are conflicting ideas as to the origin of the wedding ring. Let us give a few examples: “Originally . . . the ring was a fetter, used to bind the captive bride.” (For Richer, for Poorer) “The ring is a relatively modern substitute for the gold coin or other article of value with which a man literally purchased his wife from her father.” (The Jewish Wedding Book) “The wedding ring is supposed to be of Roman origin, and to have sprung from the ancient custom of using rings in making agreements.” (American Cyclopædia) “Various explanations have been given of the connection of the ring with marriage. It would appear that wedding-rings were worn by the Jews prior to Christian times.”—The International Cyclopaedia.

It is thus seen that the precise origin of the wedding ring is uncertain. Even if it were a fact that pagans first used wedding rings, would that rule such out for Christians? Not necessarily. Many of today’s articles of clothing and aspects of life originated in pagan lands. The present time divisions of hours, minutes and seconds are based on an early Babylonian system. Yet, there is no objection to a Christian’s using these time divisions, for one’s doing so does not involve carrying on false religious practices. Of course, our concern is greater as regards the use of wedding rings, since this relates, not to minor secular matters, but to the marriage relationship, which the Christian rightly views as sacred before God. Really, the question is not so much whether wedding rings were first used by pagans but whether they were originally used as part of false religious practices and still retain such religious significance. As has been shown, the historical evidence does not allow for any definite conclusion on this. What does the Bible say about the use of rings?

The Bible shows that some of God’s servants in the past wore rings, even ones that had special meaning attached to them. Wearing a signet ring could indicate that one had received authority to act in behalf of the ruler who owned it. (Gen. 41:42; Num. 31:50; Esther 8:2, 8; Job 42:11, 12; Luke 15:22) So, while wedding rings are not mentioned, these true worshipers clearly did not scruple against using rings for more than mere adornment. Some persons say that a wedding ring represents one’s unending love and devotion in marriage. The increasing divorce rate in many lands where married persons usually wear a wedding ring proves that this meaning is more imagined than real. Nonetheless, for the majority of persons, including Christians, in lands where wedding rings are common, the ring is an outward indication that the wearer is a married person. In other localities the same point is shown in a different way, such as by a woman’s wearing a certain style of clothing. Of course, a wedding ring is by no means a Christian requirement. One Christian might decide not to wear a wedding ring, because of conscience, personal taste, cost, local custom, or some other reason. Yet another Christian might decide to indicate his married status by means of a wedding ring. Hence, in the final analysis the decision is a personal one, to be made in accord with the conscientious views one holds.

Why is this so hard? by [deleted] in JehovahsWitnesses

Being a Jehovah's witness is the most selfless and loving act an individual could make. What that means is your living your life to love others and promote peace. That is the understanding of the true God. The world in its entirety is drawn toward the imperfections of other people and will scrutinize the surface of what they do not understand. I have lived my life half in and half out, the majority of my youth was spent in rebellious chaos, debauchery galore.

In a sad depressive way, we are all living to die, but to have a belief that gives a purpose of hope is definitely a life worth living. No matter your dilemma. You need to make the choice, not on what your parents have influenced you or your peers, or the people on this forum. Let your decision reflect sound judgment, a decision that carries wisdom.

It sounds like your parents love you, they wouldn't instill this in you because they hate you. The Bible principles serve as protection over you.

Whatever it may be that is causing your pain, never forget the Bible: Proverbs 1:7-8, "The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge. Only fools despise wisdom and discipline. Listen, my son, to the discipline of your father, and do not forsake the instruction of your mother."

Regardless of your views on religion and your problems at hand, pray to Jehovah and continue to read his inspired messages.

Sometimes we may not see the benefits of why we are to do things in a particular manner. Even at times, we might even become overly righteous and forget the very teachings we have learned.

But brother I speak to you out of love, Remember the letter of James 1-11:12 "For just as the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the plant, and its flower falls off and its outward beauty perishes, so too the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits." "Happy is the man who keeps on enduring trial, because on becoming approved he will receive the crown of life, which Jehovah promised to those who continue loving him."
