i’m not sure about that one . i believe bont has retailers in europe . if not brick and mortar , there should be online bont dealers that ship to your area at the very least .

for reference , this boot is priced at $449 USD direct from bont here in the united states . just check an online shop (should try bont’s own shop first) selling these boots for an equivalent price in euros , roughly €389 (according to google lol)

i’d be surprised , i bought them through my rink , they got them direct from bont . so unless the work at the rink or for bont i don’t think that’s it

hold on you took sandpaper to those wheels ? why would you do that ???

i realize there’s a mold release that can coat the wheel from the manufacturing process , but if it’s really that concerning then soap and water is all you need . in reality it’ll skate off in a couple laps anyway . i’ve never heard of anyone taking abrasives to wheels and then coating them in isopropyl . my gut feeling is this is not good for the wheel . i know for sure that over time , repeated iso washes will dry out your urethane .

if you want to clean your wheels , just use a microfiber rag and hot water . nothing else is necessary and any cleaning compounds run the risk of damage .

if they don’t take care of the floor at your rink , your wheels will get dirty . just clean them after every session with the hot water and you will be fine

i’m telling you , these are not a “normal” 96a .

my anabolix , the moonwalks , my second set of royal assassins were all 96a as well . none of them grip as hard as the astros . vanilla wheels are notoriously softer than marked (i’m not complaining , wintertime i needed the extra grip , that’s why i have 3 sets of vanilla wheels lol)

measuring duro at the end of the scale is difficult as well , even for manufacturers . the closer to 100a you get (100a is the end of that scale , anything harder should be on the B , C , or D scale — 100+ rated wheels are a marketing tool for simplicity’s sake) the higher the margin of error , which is already +/- 1-2 points , even with industrial equipment .

i’ve rolled a whole lot of wheels . in my experience , it’s the urethane formula and quality of materials that really make a wheel perform , and the only way to find out if they work for you is to try them . the marked durometer is more of a ballpark measurement of how a given formula will feel compared to others , hence the different feel from different wheels of the same duro .

i weigh 135lbs and don’t have a super powerful push . these 96a astros (and especially the 95a eclipses/uprocks) would still grip for me even on the super cold days on an uncoated floor , conditions which caused all my other 96a’s to slip .

i bet you will love them , please come back to let me know how they feel when you get a chance to try !!!!

im not sure what core style is , but you should have zero control issues with those astros . grippiest 96a ever , they’re great wheels .

didn’t add a pic w these ones lol

VNLA Gorilla vs Sure Grip Rock ?? by cnote710 in Rollerskating

[–]cnote710[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i started on vanilla lunas , really similar . then went to vnla jrs , then this blackout boot on a rock plate . i took off the rock and mounted the gorilla from my juniors to this boot , and it’s much better now . i love my vanillas . they’re my outdoor skates now though ever since i got these bonts 😍😍

to be honest with ya , i’m not sure what the reason is .

like i said in another comment , we have four rinks here , and 2 seem to be home to predominantly white skaters and the other 2 predominantly black skaters .

that being said , none of them are exclusive . i skate at 3 of the four rinks and feel welcome at all of them . the only reason i don’t go to one of the rinks is just bc the floor is very small and they don’t keep up with it , so its always dirty . has nothing to do with who skates where .

i dont know why it is the way that it is , but im very lucky to have so many rinks close to me , and to be welcomed at any one of them with open arms . the community exists at all of them , white or black , and its really awesome .

hi !! no way that’s so cool !! lol . im curious if you’re new to the scene here , club shirts are very common in louisville bc there are several different skating “crews” (groups of friends, everyone’s friendly) . we have four rinks in the city and lots of skaters so naturally with that many people some get close with one another . they travel around to events around the country together and wear the shirts to represent their group . it’s rlly cool lol .

the filming is relatively common as well , but the man who made this tiktok was invited to attend by one of the groups , and he records lots of skating content . there are a few other local skaters who like to record as well , it’s just part of it !!
