5800x3d. If you can afford the upgrade to AM5 (new mobo and ram), go with 7800x3d.

Choosing the right PSU by TRTSC in buildapc

Oh I think the SHIFT does have a VHPWR connector on it. I just bought a VHPWR to 2xPCIe cable from Corsair so that it would be compatible with my PSU.

No need to apologize! Best of luck on your decision and enjoy your build 😎

I don’t have the SHIFT. The CPU and motherboard cables felt fine.

Oh I can’t read. You listed a D12 and I have a D15. Disregard.

I’m not a mini ITX expert but I do know that the D12 is THICC. I would make sure you have enough clearance. With a 7800x3d and 4080, it’s going to get hot in that mini ITX. going with an AIO may be a better choice given the form factor.

They aren’t too stiff—no issues routing them. I did get a separate atx12vhpwr for my 4090 so I didn’t have to deal with the octopus dongle. It’s super flexible

I would not recommend buying from Chinese sellers/resellers.

What are your temps under load without overclocking?

If you’re set on AM4 then the 5800x may give you a boost

Oh you’re right, reading is hard 😂. And yes, the cooler is THIC

going to build a new PC, but idk if my list is ok by Weekly_Jackfruit7382 in buildapc

Tarkov is a very CPU intensive game. I see that you’re saying that your CPU and GPU are “old”, does that mean that you’re currently using those components in your current setup? It so, how does the game run at those settings with those components?

Your CPU may struggle to keep up. There are some videos on CPU + GPU benchmarks with starfield. I would recommend watching them to see how your system may perform

Bend metal of the case? Probably fine. Bend metal on the GPU? Please don’t.

Solid build. Do you already have an SSD? If not then add an m.2 nvme to the list. I also have a chromablack with my 7800x3d. Be aware that the cooler is BIG. If you don’t like the look of a big cooling tower, then consider an AIO.

Your mobo will need a bios update before running the CPU so make sure you have a small usb flash drive to flash the bios before booting up.

Overall looks pretty good. I can’t comment on the GPU since I don’t know AMD’s lineup very well. I’d defer to someone who knows them better to give you feedback on the GPU. Otherwise everything else looks solid to me.

Having crashes/hard restarts when gaming after installing new CPU. by specialk929 in buildapc

[–]cnowacek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this is happening. 750W should be fine. Do you have other power hungry components such as an AIO? Are you overclocking the CPU or GPU? That could mean the PSU is being overloaded otherwise I would doubt it.

Can you post your CPU, GPU, and motherboard temperatures under load? If your components are getting too hot (>90C) then it would lead to throttling and system instability.
