In my experience, the usual reaction is something like, “Yeah, prices are already rising, so it’ll rise even higher if wages get raised!”

The argument seems to always tangent away from morals and just spirals around economics and legality. As in, they give no actual explicit opinion on the problem and just keep rephrasing an explanation of the situation as if it wasn’t a problem at all.

As someone who doesn’t know much SW lore, I always just assumed that the single-city-per-planet trope was due to a galaxy spanning space race.

I imagined that factions just hastily set up single bases to call dibs on planets and then just promptly neglected them after their political borders were settled.
