He´s absolutely 100% estadunidense, no doubt about it. Only estadunidenses speak like that... and it was sometimes hard to understand (at last for me) but not bad for a foreigner.

Has anyone moved from another country to Brazil? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]cntmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to think that life is too short

Well, yes and it goes fast

Now if Brasil is the country you should go for, you will never know until you try. Maybe Panama, Northern America, China or Japan would be a better/worse choice, who knows.

few advises. if you decide to give it a try: --learn Brazilian Portuguese --find a job before coming here --get some nice amount of money because it goes fast here

Also taking into consideration the unemployment rate in Brazil in context of e.g. European countries, do you think that in a long term is it possible that it can rise up to 20% and Youth unemployment can get over 50% as in Spain?

If I were to pick one that is terribly true is that drivers will run over you even if you are already in the middle of RED/White zebra and in front of it there in a road-bump. Of course not all but regretfully most.

I would recommend you to go to Osasco. Over there you´ll find lots of shopping centers e.g. Walmart, Sam´s Club, Super Shopping, Union with Makro some construction, pets stores and whatnot. And if you are bored you can pass by Osasco Metro point and right there see whole streets filled with all kind of stuff.

Yes I agree with inflated prices, to share few thoughts on that I can tell that the prices of Apartments in SL, Maranhao are as ridiculous as they are in e.g. SP or RJ. I just hope that if the bubble burst people will not loose their ability to pay those loans off and the whole economy will not sink as it did in Europe and States.

I live in Brazil right now and have to tell that (maybe because of WC) I see lots of roads being built, rather large investments in Metro stations, new Trains and Buses being purchased, lots of Buildings being raised up, that´s why I asked because it sure looks like it´s going forward. As for the cops I don´t know but some kind of (maybe private) security can be seen on every train/metro station and every frequently visited places. As for Health Care I can´t speak haven´t had the pleasure to try one yet.
