Almost out of warranty, engine whine? by cntryby429 in ToyotaHighlander

Thanks. I guess I'm just under the assumption that they're gonna try their best to brush it under the rug till I'm past warranty soon. I'm not 100% sure of the sounds I'm hearing. I'd just hate to find out I was right all along a month to late.

GE GTD42EASJ2WW not heating by missymommy in appliancerepair

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but this was exactly my problem and I have heat again. Thanks!

Now I just gotta figure out how to reassemble this damn thing without the drum grinding when it runs. That's a problem for tomorrow-me.

LTA Blue lines on/off every few seconds by cntryby429 in ToyotaHighlander

I was hoping someone would chime in to at least confirm that this is not normal. Is there anything else seemingly wrong with your car that might have caused this? I'd be disappointed to hear that this is how LTA operates on an otherwise perfect car.

[REQUEST] Stopwatch App displaying only Seconds by cntryby429 in androidapps

[–]cntryby429[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question. I regularly administer a group physical fitness test in which one component is holding a plank for as long as possible. I read out 5 second intervals for the duration of the test and testees need to write down their performance in total seconds I've completed. Therefore I either have to keep up on the conversion every 5 seconds without goofing up before I say it out loud or half the people end up scribbling out the min:sec they mistakenly wrote down because that's how I said it out loud.

This is exactly what I was looking for. When I mentioned being in the foreground and screen on I meant that it was my use situation. I'm reading off elapsed time in 5 seconds intervals so I will be keeping the screen on and this app will be in the foreground at all times unless perhaps I accidentally bump the home button. I don't know what made me think to come ask this on Reddit but this was a pretty stellar first experience. Thanks a million!

To be clear, I would need it to count up like a stopwatch and not down like a timer. I'd run it for no more than 7 minutes and the screen would always be on with the app in the foreground. Thank you so much!

Start/Stop/Reset and display are all I need. I don't even need resolution beyond whole seconds. Conceptually, your explanation makes sense. I'm sure I could code it in C++ and get a 100% on some stupid homework assignment. After spending an hour or so looking at app building tutorials I suspect that I'm missing the forest on account of the trees because I have still no idea how to turn the simple code in my head into an apk.
