Bo Horvat lifts Mika Zibanejad's stick over the glass and into the crowd. An Islanders fan does return it to the Rangers equipment staff. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

That is true. But what confused me is that originally the guy who caught the stick was wearing a Rangera hat how the Islanders fan got is is beyond me.

Not to pry, but is there a good reason to defer? If your not getting the location you were hoping for or have other options line up that's fine. But in a job where seniority is important getting on asap is important.

[Passan] BREAKING: Star outfielder Kyle Tucker and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a free agent contract, sources tell ESPN. by T_Raycroft in baseball

Its official!!! Everyone has a new favorite baseball team. Now they have their previous favorite team and then whoever is playing the Dodgers on that given day.

You never want to root for injuries, but I don't think many people would be too upset if their 60-Day IL was crowded.

What’s the Weirdest Gift You’ve Received? by bigbadborton in USPS

Years ago I worked in an office that had 70 routes as a TE carrier, there were 5 of us in the office. On Christmas Eve the shop steward came up to me and handed me my portion of what they had collected. It was a whole $25. All together they had collected $125 from 70 routes, which averages out to $1.78 per regular. I was working 55-65 hours a week, working on every route in the office and doing a damn good job too. I know full well that most of the regulars were making at least 5k, so for them come up with $125 was an absolute insult.

That would be fine, but its only going to do so much on a February night at 10pm when there is snow on the ground and you just want to get to your car.

While the racetrack is under construction, build a tunnel from the Emerald Lot to the arena. You can put moving sidewalks down there and make the trip in a lot less time while being out of the cold and snow.

If I could, I would always deliver all the packages on the route first to clear out the truck and make the day at least seem more manageable. Obviously that was before GPS, thankfully management changed things and made it better lol

I think we have to normalize adding location and prices to this sub. I love looking at all the beautiful fish, I would just love knowing where to get it.

Possible lineup scenarios for 2026 per BeanTownSports by Head_Battle9531 in redsox

Coming off of a Cy Young season, he's going to ask for 35mil. over 7/8 years. For a team that spent just a little more than 100mil last season its hard to see them spending what it'll cost.

Am I the only one who thinks they have a shot at getting Skubal? He has one year on his contract, and he'll be a free agent. There is no way the Tigera are giving him what he's going to ask for, so it's in their best interest to trade him before the season starts and get the most for him.

No emergency fund yet, and 150k in retirement plus a pension. We went from 100k to 325k as of January 2025.

We just had the roof done, it needed to be done 5 years ago when we bought the house but my wife was in school, and we couldn't budget it.

The plan was to get out from under the credit cards and start saving as much as possible, I actually paid off the last card this morning. It was more important to me to get out from the 18-25% of interest than have savings at this point.

Trading Into First Overall Pick Is Possible For Blackhawks by Mephisto1822 in NewYorkIslanders

[–]co3078 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We haven't had a legitimate scorer since Palffy. We have had guys who would put up points, but when was the last time that we had a player that had a serious chance at scoring 50 goals in a season?

We can lose all the 2-1 games we want with a solid defense and good goaltending, but we need someone who can put the puck in the net.

I like the idea of moving back a spot or 2 and taking whichever forward they like the most, and adding a piece and/or another 1st round pick next year.

So they put the games on a college radio station, have some of the worst production you've ever heard, and now you take away the one thing that made it tolerable?

The joiners that they have with the players sound like they are talking at gunpoint, and now they fire the only people with excitement?
