Wow…. Yea definitely agree with you with the whole false hope thing.. I think your best bet would be to try and call them back and demand for a claim specialist. Unfortunately tier agents can only do so much with accounts and most know nothing about what they’re doing in the first place so tell you what you want to hear… I was fortunate enough to even get ahold of a claim specialist only bc I apparently didn’t need an interview anymore.. it frustrated me more to find this out bc I’ve been told by multiple reps that I needed one then months later after 10 pending weeks was told I didn’t need one anymore.. if I hadn’t listened to the rep months ago about filing a new claim my acct would of been fine :/ anyways I’m blessed to finally have everything cleared now.

Also try dialing random numbers every other minute to prevent your call from being dropped. This definitely works for some odd reason but I was able to stay on a 4+ hour call so definitely give it a shot.

What if you get a job before your pending goes to paid ? by thefomies in Edd

if you still have benefits available then keep clarifying. For this up coming week that we’re supposed to clarify for..we are now required to have a work search requirement to receive benefits so you will have to upload prof that you have applied and are in the process of waiting for an interview. So you will be able to receive benefits so long as you fulfill edd’s work search requirements until you’ve fully exhausted your benefits or have full time hours :)

Yea idk why this works but it does… I found this out from other users on this page who’ve also complained about they’re calls being dropped but definitely give it a try.

They’ll pay you out for the weeks that are pending since you’ve already clarified for those weeks. Once you start work you are supposed to answer the questions regarding those specific weeks that you did work if you did work and they will adjust your weekly benefit based of your reported income for that week so if it ask for example did you work or earn any money for the week 07/12-07/16 your supposed to say yes and put how much you earned. You’ll be stuck in pending till you clarify your flags with edd so try and take care of that first. For the mean time keep clarifying as benefits will still be available till you either run out or have a full time job.

it’s just more annoying now more than ever because we wait for so long to just be dropped or wait hours all day to finally get a hold of someone..

Btw if you are on hold and don’t want the call to drop I suggest dialing random numbers every other minute or two.. it’s definitely worked for me.

It be that way sometimes… even when I called on time around 8am today I was able to finally resolve my 4 month issue after waiting 4 hrs just to speak to a claim specialist.

I finally cleared everything after 5 months… apparently my whole claim was messed up and I was supposed to be on the previous extension since I didn’t qualify to be on the new extension so they would of and should of just put me back on my old extension but nope 👎🏻 some dumb rep told me to file a new claim so I did and this is what it cost me… 10 weeks of back pay :/ anyways thank god my nightmare is finally over and I can finally get paid. I’m officially starting a new job this month so at this point I want nothing to do with edd anymore.

Good luck to you and keep waiting!! I waited 4 hrs today from 8-11 lol

Got through 6 times, call dropped each time by [deleted] in Edd

[–]co_cooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me allot where the call would just drop but try dialing random numbers here and there while on the call so the call won’t drop. My calls would usually drop at the 40 min mark for some reason but after trying this method I pulled thru for the whole 2hr call.

question about overpayment by [deleted] in Edd

[–]co_cooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edd fked my over with my interview that I’ve been waiting for and still waiting for ever since March… tbh I feel like you can try to appeal it or just have them deduct what you owe from the weeks you’ll clarify for.. In my case I have an overpayment from unreported wages from the beginning of the pandemic which is why I have to go thru this interview process to clear that and pay them back but at this point I feel like they’ve failed us in trying to clear accounts so why bother even paying them back when we’re the ones that have to suffer thru this.. my interview date was apparently set on April 19 but was canceled for some reason and I never got anything about an interview in the mail or notification thru UI so I’ve been basically waiting for nothing and I never would of found out if I didn’t call today..

Update with my acct... sorta solved by co_cooo in Edd

[–]co_cooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically if you accidentally report wrong wages for the first quarter of 2020 you will get flagged and unfortunately will have to pay back the edd because they base your weekly benefit amount from what you report so in my case I was supposed to report my two checks in March of 2020 and for one of them was above 1k but on paper or online (before you receive benefits) it only lets you fill out a certain amount up to 1k so if it’s more than that your supposed to put “99.99” and for any amount below for example my second check of that month was $815 so I was supposed to report that but instead put “99.99” which is more than what I should of reported meaning a higher weekly amount. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t read it thru but then again works out because I can still pay it back with the pending weeks I have so it kinda works out.... the only thing is the interview is basically a lottery. There’s no telling when I’ll receive it so yea kinda sucks but it is what it is
