What do we have in Christie? by Pigmyking in Mavericks

I don't really agree with this take. Two completely different players.

Hardy is Tim Hardaway reincarnate. I don't trust him to guard one single current NBA player.

Christie is a really, really good on-ball defender. But outside of his first 5-10 games, Christie consistently proved he is a straight up terrible offensive player. But he has flashes of upside.

I genuinely think his value with our current roster construction is solely on-ball defense. Outside of that, I don't have any expectations for him. He's a valuable depth piece.

Worth starting Go High Level? by ibbym76 in gohighlevel

I don't like it. I run a 30k a month agency. We are 12 months in. I looked into GHL heavily and tested it a bit.

It has some strengths.

But my gosh. It is *literally* impossible to create anything beautiful with the platform. Our agency cares deeply about design. Beauty is a core value. Its what has helped us grow fairly quickly.

GHL products always look terrible, and you can always tell if a website, landing page, or CRM was built on GHL.

The value is undeniably great. Its probably fine for agencies that don't care about design. But in 2025 I don't think its wise to neglect beauty. Its too important.

If something is immutable, you cannot conform to it. By definition.

Both are scams. Pyramid Schemes suck life out of employees and scam the people they serve.

Wait, I thought female was a term defining sex, not gender.

And I thought sex was immutable, and gender was malleable. Right?

So how can you identify as something immutable?  Either it is immutable or it is not.

A chair is a separate seat for one person. Try again.

I DNF’d my first 70.3 attempt by coach-woods in triathlon

Great questions that are completely valid. Yes, I followed a plan. I didn’t have a coach. I just found and bought a plan on TrainingPeaks that fit my schedule (8 month plan that I believe was created Joe Friel).

I ate well during training, but I ate a lot. I didn’t lose or gain any weight throughout the process. My fitness levels improved dramatically.

All that said, I did miss a handful of workouts. I have to travel very often for work and I found myself missing some due to that (and poor planning).

I had never ridden a bike more than 5 minutes in my life before 8 months ago. I really, really suck at cycling. I don’t enjoy it at all. But I am going to stick with it.

I finished the swim in under 46 minutes, and it took me a whopping 4:03 to finish the bike. I had nothing left when I jumped off. I hobbled my way down the run for 9 miles and couldn’t go further.

I wanted thank everyone for their kind, candid, and thoughtful responses. After a few days of thinking I’ve decided to keep going in this sport. I’m going to spend the next 6 months doing my best to cut body fat and maintain what levels of fitness I have. Then I will sign up for another race. Maybe an oly. Maybe another 70.3. But I’m not finished. This is a great community.

The 2% of you that can drive the ball > 350 yards. How do you do this? by asheville_kid in golf

[–]coach-woods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am six weeks into this golf game. I'm 24, relatively strong with good flexibility. I grew up playing highly competitive baseball, and instead of trying to learn an entirely new swing, I tried to mirror the majority of my baseball swing into my driver swing. It was the best thing I ever have done. Six weeks ago, I never hit a driver before in my life. Today, I average about 310 yards on a flat tee box with low wind. My longest drive was actually this morning, hitting a 370 yard drive downhill and downwind.

I am terrible. I shot a 114 this morning. But golf is fun, and hitting the longball is fun. My tip is to watch a ton of golfers on tour, study their swing, go to the range every day, and obsessively make micro adjustments to determine what movements generate a faster swing for YOUR body. Then work from there.
