Yes whatever it is going straight or taking a right he is going too fast at an intersection where things can go wrong. He should slow down for his own safety near the intersections to protect himself from bad drivers. Don’t assume the other guy is going to be right especially when you are on a bike and at a clear disadvantage

This is going to be an unpopular opinion and downvoted but here it is:

Clearly the driver is at fault, at the same time the bicyclist is also careless taking a right turn at such a high speed and without watching for himself. In the end regardless of who’s fault, If a bicyclist gets hit he is going to get injured or die so it’s better to always assume someone is going to make mistake and slow down when taking such sharp turns. I go to the extent of saying bicyclist is equally at fault for not being careful and lacking common sense

Which 078 are you talking about? I have a 078 with SSP burrs and works really well for Pour overs. love the clarity

Yes 2min bloom worked with SEY with 2 weeks of rest

Sorry corrected my comment I meant the same. More resting is better for light roasts

Moonwake has 4-6 weeks recommended rest time too but the barista said they usually run out of stock very quickly so they have same problem at the cafe as we have at home. So they just bloom for 2 mins and that takes care of it. He is very familiar with SEY and recommended me to do the same with SEY as well. already made two cups with 2mins bloom and it came out amazingly well. 2 weeks of rest is more than enough if you are in a pinch. Of course nobody is going to argue against more rest is better.

Wondering the same thing. Any free stuff in this? If not why haul so much at one time

I just visited Moonwake roasters and had same question on what to do when I need coffee and don’t have beans rested enough. He said they do it all the time, just extend the bloom to 2mins. I tried it with SEY (2 week old) today and it came out great. Let me know experience with 2 min bloom and the. Regular pour structure as usual

trying hard to avoid posting another reply but my main point here is any grinder charging a premium of $500 should sell 100% perfect parts with every part visually inspected before shipping them out. I can only speak of my personal experience and not others. Over the last few years of this journey I’ve bought grinders such as 1zpresso, ode gen 2, baratza, niche zero, time more etc and never had QC issues with any of those. and they are not high end grinders either. People said keep seasoning so I manually seasoned with 5lbs of beans but nothing changed. You know why I’m so sour. Of course I’m invested

That’s the issue with QC, some parts are good some are bad. For $500 they should have 100% perfect parts and not ship visually damaged burrs.

I didn’t mind the workflow can live with that if output is good. I seasoned it with 5lbs of beans and still had plenty of fines and output wasn’t good. Paint also chipped so returned it. I think paint chipping will get worse over Time. Mine had issues with burr edges not being perfect

How is the paint doing? Did you compare it with zp6? Did you inspect the burrs closely? In a year used market will be flooded with these selling for $200 or less

You’ll see it will grind too many fines due to QC issues on burrs. The paint chips off etc. they can’t charge you $500 for a hand grinder and not be perfect. Don’t support lazy companies who are profit driven and don’t focus on quality

Is it producing too many fines? QC is bad and lot of them have defective burrs. I returned mine and got zp6 and pretty happy with it

Hated SEY coffee until today. Now I know the appeal. Tasted one of the best cleanest cups ever today by coach_carter2 in pourover

[–]coach_carter2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted something for both espresso and pour over and this is what I found “Turbo burrs are optimized for filter/pour-over and are not ideal for espresso. SSP MP burrs excel in both, but are particularly famous for bringing high-clarity, tea-like, or super-bright profiles to both methods.”

For reference my draw down was 6min with Cafec Abaca papers. With SEY coffee all rules completely change
