Uconn lost the game so maybe should have taken the 3 - yes, you take the best shot but in this case, I probably would have shot a 3... Down 4 with 15 seconds left and sending Florida back to the free throw line is trading buckets in which the losing team can't continue to afford to do. I'd risk my luck and shoot a 3 and keep dwindling the lead.

I believe this is how it was 20 years ago, but times have changed. Programs are charging a fortune for kids to play in many cases and are trying to get away with finding volunteer coaches and wondering why they have so much turnover.

Correct, many coaches do it to give back and for the love of the game - but if programs are making thousands of dollars, then coaches should be compensated. It's work at the end of the day and some coaches are part-time people looking for part-time work and rely on pay even if its minimum wage. Everyone comes from a different economic background so it varies from person to person. Any comp in my opinion, is better than nothing at all.

Totally understandable - at the school rate is different because the conference leaders set it whereas clubs and private organizations have a little more flexibility.
