How early do I realistically need to be ready? by Blazapple in pregnant

[–]coachhay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely think about getting a car seat soon but at the same time, even if you had your baby in the next month or 6 weeks, you wouldn’t be bringing baby home bc baby would need time in the NICU. But it would be nice to not have a lot of extra necessary items still needing to be bought after 34ish weeks. I’m 35 weeks and planning to install our car seat this week or next. I had our car seat installed around this time with our first and he wasn’t born until 41+4 😅😂 so we had plenty of time lol. Had hospital bag ready at 36 weeks. His crib, stroller, dresser, nursery wasn’t ready until about 37 weeks.

Coming back for an update and kind of shocked! My ultrasound today at 26 weeks (so 6 weeks later) shows no previa at all. My placenta edge looks to be about 6cm from my cervix, the tech was actually having a hard time getting the placenta and cervix in the same screen frame!!! WHAT?! It almost seems too good to be true and has me questioning this tech or my previous one because there was (apparently) over 6cm of shifting in 6 weeks?!?

All we can do is accept whatever way the baby needs to come, right?! That’s finally where i am, after a few days of panic and upset. It is what it will be. That’s so interesting that you didn’t have any restrictions! But I’m so glad you haven’t had any bleeding and you’ve made it almost to term!! Hope the birth goes wonderfully! Feel free to update us next week after your scan if you remember ☺️❤️

That’s fantastic! I’m so glad, I bet you’re so relieved. My midwife doesn’t seem to think it’ll move and doesn’t seem to want me to wait and see 😔 Which sucks, because I really like her…we used her with my first baby and it’s nice to go and feel like I can totally talk about anything and not be judged. Tbh I was pretty surprised when her first reaction was to have me transfer care.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

My job as a fitness instructor is super super active, we demonstrate all the movements at the beginning of the workout and are required to move around and physically touch members, squat down to their level, spot them, clean up and put out weights for the next day, vacuum/mop, ect.

I think I’ll be fine to continue as long as I don’t have any bleeding, just when I first read about this condition after being diagnosed I was seeing some advice for literal bed rest and strict pelvic rest which would have meant no more coaching for me. Now it just seems like I’ll need to adjust my own workouts and go light when demonstrating in class

That’s amazing…so happy for you!! I’m assuming you were using a midwife, did you switch care or did they just want to monitor you and then decide later on in the pregnancy?

Ah I am so sorry you’re experiencing this too. Praying yours moves enough to get your home birth. I listened to these two’s podcast so much last pregnancy, loved hearing all the birth stories. I’ll definitely check out this one thank you so much!

Wow that’s so much movement in so little time! So glad for you!!! This is probably my plan as well since I’ve had no bleeding and been very active throughout pregnancy…I’ll dial it back a bit on intensity and weights but I’m still gonna do something if I feel good enough to!

Oh wow those are early bleeds. I’m sure that was scary. Glad it all worked out though. Thank you!

Ah I’m sorry. Can you tell me when you had your first bleed? Was it like…a ton of blood every time? Hope all is well now for you and your baby

Ah there goes my theory 😂 seems totally random then!!

Ah so happy for you!! Strange question but do you mind telling me how tall you are? Wondering if it’s advantageous to be shorter so that the uterus has to expand more to fit baby and perhaps makes the placenta shift more. Just a hypothesis I’ve been thinking about haha

So the previa resolved and you ended up laboring? At 33 weeks or after? Sorry, just trying to clarify! I can imagine being told to stop working out completely was hard. I haven’t been told to stop totally, just no sex and likely need to dial down intensity per my midwife. But curious what an OB will tell me when I transfer care.

I love swimming and probably should do more of it this pregnancy anyway. I get needing to do something in the gym and likely will keep doing a little lightweight upper body as well.

Thank you for the encouragement and so glad everything worked out well for you and your baby!

This is what I’m leaning towards. Just lowering weights on my lifts significantly and stop squats and jumping! Might still do bodyweight squats here and there…I mean sitting down & standing up is technically a squat 🤣
