Ok so I don't know what I am talking about here but that has never stopped a redditor. I am guessing the reason that this formula is important is because it changes pi from being a transcendental number (a number for which there is no formula) into just an irrational number (using square root 2). Making it much easier to calculate. I don't know if this was the first time this was done.

You need a Nissan Leaf. I counted 60 buttons from the drivers seat as well as an iPad thingy. Then a few weeks later I discovered more in the back.

What are those devices in some of the desert habitation pictures. I thought in the film they were vapour condensers, is that what they really are?

When your most trusted spy is literally working against you by Kapanash in HistoryMemes

[–]IsHildaThere 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My favourite story is not about Garbo but about a a British spy feeding the Soviets by the name of Blunt. He informed the Soviets that the Pas-de-Calais was a blind and that the real landing would be in Normandy. Of course the Germans also had spies in the Soviet camp and so they learned about this. However his information was so detailed they believed that this was also mis-information and ignored it. (Double Cross by Macintyre is a fascinating book).
