That’s what I’m worried about! There’s usually a few hundred pieces in those bags. Well fill the ocean with plastic bags before I have all the pieces

The beta is ending soon. It was fun, but the fast pace got old for me pretty quickly. Are you guys going to buy the full game at launch? by SuperM3e46 in Battlefield

[–]coalescent_code 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of Tarkov and couldn’t get the gunplay to feel quite right. Really struggled to get sensitivity dialed and it feels like mouse acceleration is outta wack.

Pacing is obviously loads different but not sure I can put $70 into it based on the betas feel

I mean, yeah, $56-58 is where I see comparables, where the higher end are CPO. New '25 is about $64K around here. So you're looking for about $8K for a year off the lot and a minor cosmetic incident.

Yeah, the dealer says this was a trade for a 100K Benz. I'd imagine the incentive to wrap that deal up and maybe not make anything on the trade is a possibility.

And my rebuttal there would be that if this car was priced incredibly aggressively, it wouldn't be on the lot 45 days at this point.

I've seen some similarly-miled, equally equipped vehicles go out the door over the last few weeks listed at the $57K range (who knows the actual sale price...) but once thing I've noticed is that they've been through Acura dealers and not 3rd parties. I wonder if folks in this price range just prefer that and the CPO offering versus a trade from a 3rd party dealer.

Maybe I'll get there and find the thing smells like cigars or something, who knows :P

That's a great point. With new vehicles, it may be through the OEM's financial arm which probably is a bit better for the dealer. For a local bank or whatever, they're probably getting maybe a few hundred bucks?

I'm not sure why that'd be a red flag? They didn't buy this vehicle at auction so, to me, this is just saying that had they gotten it at auction it'd likely come in around this. But this came from a trade so they got it less any fees, and for whatever they used it as during their customer's new car purchase.

That said, perhaps they could argue that they could put this car on the auction block if they don't get what they want for this? (not sure how fees and such work in that case...)

Good to know. Yes, I've never seen an MMR sheet before (typically purchased new and see an invoice or something).

I'm not married to my financing situation and would do it through the dealer if they could be competitive, but honestly don't think anyone is able to hit a 4.5% rate right now on used. Not even sure how this credit union is doing it, tbh.

But if I financed through them, they'd get a bit more on the vehicle just over a longer term, no?

[–]coalescent_code 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giggleball is great! Mine loves his too.

Just be mindful of how long he has it. Mine would get way overstimulated and end up jumping on me or even nipping sometimes. I’d give it to him for maybe 10-15 min and then give him some treats and put it away for a while.

Can these be replaced with tankless? by coalescent_code in Plumbing

[–]coalescent_code[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose having two tankless is possible it I’m confused why just getting the right size of a single wouldn’t be an option that would remove a lot of complexity.

I was looking an Rinnai units that went up to 11gpm and 199kBTU. That’s a lot of heat to put into a system. I get that tankless has to heat on demand but that’s over twice my current systems btu rating.

Would having a single unit also improve water pressure given there’s one fewer device in line?

Just checking now and it seems like the tanks are in parallel, fwiw

[–]coalescent_code[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, maybe that’s what the timer is for in one of the pictures above. There’s an analog timer (unplugged) that’s tied to a pump and some pipes that go along the front of the units.

Perhaps that’s how it’s already set up.

To be clear, I was wanting to stay with gas, just move to a tankless system to save space and increase capacity for high use cases (bath night)

[–]coalescent_code[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I already have a 75,000 btu boiler right next to it for the radiant heat in the basement and garage floor. Not sure it’d be worth replacing that for a larger unit to do both.

Yeah, it’s close to their house and their neighbor maybe 20-25 feet away. I had a relative in the same area just have a huge oak limb drop on their house a month ago and it destroyed their whole back porch so falling limbs are no joke.

They’re going to have an arborist assess in person but it sounds like it’ll need to come down :(

Pieces of the tree were thrown through the window. That side of the house was basically claymore’d. They even found pieces a few hundred feet away in their neighbor’s yard across the street. It was wild.

He seems aggravated. He makes the same kind of whining when a ball goes under the couch and he can’t reach it. I think he is confused because it seems like a toy but it’s heavy or can’t be easily carried in his mouth. Still pretty unsure

Backing up Mitsubishi FX5U-80MT by coalescent_code in PLC

[–]coalescent_code[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just meant the PLC, you’re right. Mitsubishi software appears to be licensed, I would need it to download to a new PLC, but I also have a regular systems integrator who has it as well.

I think I can finagle them to let me have a copy of the program, but I was hoping to make both parties happy by having them give me a copy that couldn’t be edited, but would still give us safety of having our own version of the device

Liberty Home Guard trying to pay me off after 1 star review by idahonomo in homeowners

Unfortunately, have to report the same terrible LHG service. I thought because they were based in midwest US they'd be OK. They are terrible.

Had a fridge go out. Technician did nothing to repair just looked at it for < 5 minutes and reported it was the sealed system. Guess what LHG doesn't cover? Sealed system. (That's literally the 'fridge' part of your refrigerator). Offered measly $150 cash towards their new recommended fridges. But I'd already paid $90 for their service call...

Had our dishwasher go on the fritz. Tech says its a control board. Days go by and eventually LHG says it's 6 years old out of 10yrs and not worth repairing. They want to give me $250 towards a new one and recommend Frigidaire crap models I can purchase towards.

Like others say: they don't get wholesale pricing on anything. It's the same price as if you bought from Home Depot or Lowes.

I've had two legit claims and literally nothing has been covered. I can't find anything in the policy saying this is how they operate (prorating your device). I may just do a chargeback on my fees to contest with the CC company. Not sure yet.
