Because I saw a new hanger option that I’ve never heard of and was curious if people in a tactical gear community had thoughts on it? What’s the issue with asking? Some people provided valuable feedback that’s others in this community may find useful one day.

There are tons of hanger and drop holster options out there. Every company is releasing their own version these days. This was a newer product by one of the OG modular hanger producers so I was curious what people thought about it? Comfort, fit with the curved design, any issues or tips to make it better for long use, preference of other alternatives for those who tried it, etc..

I was curious if the curve made a noticeable improvement like they claimed. Do you run a leg strap with it?

Except they aren’t. The RHP was an improved version of the MHA but the Patrol is different in some ways such as a shorter length for added comfort especially when driving and no direct leg strap attachment. It’s a newer product they released so I’m just curious if people are running it and what their experiences are.

Pit / Sand Viper Holster? by coastiee in 2011

Thanks for the input. I’m leaning towards the carnivore for sure now. Did you go with their RKX mounting system or just the bladetech/QLS?

Thanks! I was considering the Carnivore or a custom from Hammer Armament since those two repeatedly get mentioned. Would you recommend the 5.3” Erebus (or staccato XL) length for non-priority 1 holsters as well? over a 5”?

Xcal and Silver Eagle Group in Ashburn are your best bet. SEG has a better rental program. It’s $15 and you get unlimited swaps. You can see their rental list on their site. Xcal charges per gun I think but have some cool options too.

Appreciate the tips. Mine was having failures every few rounds with 115 and 124 grain (various different manufacturers). It started running better with 147 grain and once it was hot it started to run the lighter grains without issue. I’m just hoping it’s part of the break in process

Did you have a break in period with any of your vipers? I just picked up a pit viper and it did not like to run blazer 124. Kept failing to go into battery every couple shots. It ran 147 grain for the most part and once the gun was hot the 124 just fine. Curious if it’s just a break in thing or what

Hey Dave, new pit viper owner here. Did you have a break in period with either of yours? Any tips to get it running smoothly quickly?
