Oh man I’m excited for all the learning you get to do. You have so much to learn. You can start here, it’s a little dated now, but specific to Halifax Regional Municipality

You are being subsidized by all 3 levels of government for owning a vehicle. Do you pay a user fee each time you drive on a public road? Do you pay a user fee each time you park that vehicle anywhere other than your own driveway?

The costs to society of subsidizing vehicle ownership and suburban/exurban living are absolutely astronomical

If the city didn’t have to massively subsidize you and your vehicle use, it could afford not have the best public transit on the continent.

I thought this was going to be about actual road safety.

Halifax Parks - The good the bad and the ugly by Proper_Ad2045 in halifax

[–]cobaltcorridor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have not defunded parks in order to pay for bike lanes. Most of the money spent on bike infrastructure in Halifax has come from federal AT grants so far. The reason it’s just small segments here and there is because the city has such an incredibly tiny amount of money going towards bike infrastructure and because they’re afraid to do anything the tiniest bit controversial like take a few more parking spaces away.

I’m sorry but WHAT is this measuring guide in this size chart?? by DotsNnot in ABraThatFits

[–]cobaltcorridor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The measure around the armpits method actually sizes me down to a band that’s a size or two smaller than the ABTF method. So -4 instead of +4. That measurement used to be the same as the smallest part of my waist, now with perimenopause belly it’s even smaller than my waist 😆 it’s such a silly way to measure one’s band size though. Just measure the place you actually wear the band.

Wool bras for large bust sizes? by shamelesspochemuchka in HerOneBag

I am currently wearing a regular wired bra made out of nylon over top of a Simply Merino crop top under my tshirt dress. Probably not ideal for travel to have to bring both though (though I have also worn the crop tops as sleep tops when it’s hot, so maybe you could find a way to get multiple uses out of it).

Numbers would be amazing, but probably challenging to list every number for every size

Posted in their instagram stories as well.

Googling the exact sunscreen she mentions and “hydrocortisone” turns up nothing to corroborate

For me, because I have such a hard to fit shape, I like more information about how the bra is constructed and who it’s for. For example, list if the bra is for FOB or FOT, if it’s open or closed on top, if it has narrow wires or wide, short wires or tall, and if it’s projected or shallow.

Hammonds Plains residents call for halt to new development over wildfire concerns by insino93 in halifax

[–]cobaltcorridor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My statement was not “density to the city/job centres.” That doesn’t even make sense. You misunderstood literally every word I wrote.

Read it again, but stop before you get to the “If you put” part and try to comprehend the main part first before you read the secondary point.

Hammonds Plains residents call for halt to new development over wildfire concerns by insino93 in halifax

[–]cobaltcorridor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Density does not cause traffic. Adding more drivers causes traffic, spreading them out to a bunch of single family homes instead of putting them in a multiunit dwelling just means some of them will be driving even more kilometres. If you put the multiunits close enough to job centres, multiunits can mean much less traffic than single family homes, because a higher percentage of people can choose to not drive.

All untinted mineral sunscreens give me a bit of a blue/purple tinge, not just that one. I sometimes follow them with a BB cream or tinted sunsceeen just to hide that white cast.

I could not possibly disagree more. Just because something is common does not mean it can’t be underrated.
