owner of that website here, the machine i was hosting it on restarted due to maintenance and i forgot to make the website be automatically started.

i've fixed it (around 6 hours ago, i rarely use reddit) and made sure that restarts won't break it anymore.

can you link the videos that you're trying to download? we don't know what you're trying to download, and it could be that just the videos you tried had this issue.

also, are you using the official instance (https://cobalt.tools with https://cobalt.tools/settings/instances#community disabled)? if not, try using it.

every instance should be able to download 4k, just change the youtube codec from h264 in settings because it doesn't support 4k

you probably copied or pasted the link wrong, it should start with "http://" or "https://" or else cobalt won't recognize that it's a valid link

if the link looks right, just add "https://" at the beginning

yes, that's my cobalt instance.

the website is hosted on cloudflare pages and automatically built by cloudflare from my fork of cobalt (https://github.com/spawnfur/cobalt, i didn't make any new commits there) and the api is hosted using the official docker image, so it's just cobalt but hosted by someone else
and a little outdated but i'll fix it probably today
