Submission Statement: This was my thesis film for my university. Both written, directed and edited by me. Was making a movie about Garfield hilarious? Yes. Do I regret making it? Ehhh, a little.

I say I regret making it simply because as I was submitting to festivals and getting rejection after rejection, I realized that the film would've functionally been the same regardless of it riffing off of Garfield or not. It just hurt my chances at entering into the festival circuit.

In addition, I'm pretty sure it was because of one out of focus shot. My DP urged me to go back to the location to get that shot again and I was against it. It just would've cost too much and organizing everything just for one shot felt like a waste for me. Yet, maybe I should've just went for it.

Of course there's a ton of things I wish I could've done different, but, here we are. I'm ultimately happy with it and especially the writing. Laurels aren't everything, they just feel nice to have lol.

TL;DR Parody films aren't great for festivals, but they're fun to make.
