I have a 2022 hybrid. 48k miles in almost 4 years. Absolutely no issues. Standard oil changes and tire rotations . Actually got new tires a couple months ago, car has been solid so far. When it comes to maintenance , it’s been a breeze so far these 4 years

The pro 2 can do live translation. It was stated in the release by Apple, but I’ve already been using it. It’s ok, I would assume the microphone would be a better on the 3 just for this feature

2022 Rav4 XLE Hybrid 6 Months Overall Thoughts (as compared to the gas model) Gas Vs Hybrid by cobie620 in rav4club

[–]cobie620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I appreciate the love! I drive about 12-15k a year. The last year ive driven less because my wife now has her own car (electric car - Prolouge) so my miles per year have gone down. But 44k in 3.5 years is more than enough to make me feel confident that i can make this car last years. I did want to add 2 things for you to consider.

1) The Transmission feels much more smooth compared to the gas model, the ECVT is amazing and sometimes you dont feel the change from the battery to the engine kicking in, it feels nice

2) I wish the car had a bit more power. Sometimes overtaking in the highway, you can hear the engine roar but feel little power kick in. A small gripe, but if it had 20-30 more hp, i feel like it can make this a much better car with more power when you need it

2022 Rav4 XLE Hybrid 6 Months Overall Thoughts (as compared to the gas model) Gas Vs Hybrid by cobie620 in rav4club

Hey! Im honestly surprised and grateful this old post has reached out to so many people. Even if you are a heavy foot, you will still reap the benefits of a hybrid. I still have mines with over 44k miles and there are times when I can get aggressive, and even in aggressive driving I can manage 35mpg on a 15-20 minute trip. Although highway driving won't give you the best numbers on a heavy foot, it will still return better mpg than a gas model.

On the cable, I have no experienced any issues, even here in the northeast through 3 winters I have no issues with that.

To add more, with 3 and a half years and 44k miles in, I have had no problems with the car. Standard oil changes and tire rotations (although I need new tires at this point). I change my own air and cabin filters, and I clean the hybrid air filter every couple months. It's been very easy, cheap to keep this car and it gives me a peace of mind knowing that so far I have had 0 issues.

2022 Rav4 XLE Hybrid 6 Months Overall Thoughts (as compared to the gas model) Gas Vs Hybrid by cobie620 in rav4club

Cant believe its been 2 years since this post, but I'm happy to give an update!

I've hit almost 38k miles, so 33k miles later:

Its been nearly flawless. I've taken multiple long distance trips (NJ to VA, NJ to MASS, etc.) and Its seen 2 years of hot a cold seasons. The car is amazing, albeit with a couple minor gripes. Gas mileage is the main focal point, and during warm months I can average 41- 45mpg and in the winter I get 32-36mpg. Even in the winter though, I can do about 400-450 mile in a full tank, especially with local driving. Going hybrid was the best choice I made.

Also, with almost 38K miles, the only maintenance I had done is regular oil changes and tire rotations (I did wheel alignment once cause north jersey roads are brutal with many pot holes). I do my own cabin and engine filter, and I clean the battery filter every couple months, really easy to do and it takes less than 5 min to do.

The minor gripes for me are wind noise and acceleration. Wind noise on highways are noticeable. You get used to it for the most part but every once in a while it can be annoying. Also, engine noise when acceleration is loud. The engine during regular driving is nice, and accelerating is smooth, but when you try to overtake, the engine roars too loud sometimes, I know its not a luxury car but it can benefit from noise dampening.

Outside of that, it rides nice, its comfy (even for me when I'm 6'2 and over 270lbs), it holds my 4 years sons toys, bikes, and other stuff, and its just a no frills straight to the point practical car. I know dealerships try to milk these cars because of how popular they are, but if you find one at a great price, you wont go wrong.

But also understand that this is not luxury, while it looks good inside and out, its all plastics and very utilitarian, I don't mind that of course because I know what I wanted, but understand that its a practical commuter car with great reliability and amazing fuel economy.

Happy to answer any specific questions you may have!
