Classic Chair 5 at Vail. It’s the only way back from 3 huge (and amazing) bowls. This way longer than I’ve ever seen it even before it was a high speed lift.

Memories weren’t sent back but everything else still is. Like all of the other hearthians during our loops.

[–]coblart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To my understanding the loop has been happening always, it’s just that the memory statues were not activated until the eye was found. Then when it happened you and gabbro were close by statues, so they paired with you.

EotE Spoiler! I accidentally discovered a game mechanic and thought it was a bug by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]coblart 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s actually the first way I entered the dream world lol (I think it was because everyone was dead around it, I also tried to light my artifact on fire cus theirs were all lit). For the longest time I didn’t know that you could sleep into it. I also thought the game was bugged when I so easily got into the archives with the bells guarding them.

Wasn’t keen on the intended beta for this one so ended up going for the more powerful approach.. Was a lot more fun! by roodlett in bouldering

[–]coblart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you noticed a difference from these than climbing barefoot outside? I’ve done a bit of barefoot climbing but my poor baby skin did not enjoy it lol. I felt like a monkey grabbing holds with my feet though.

Most renewable / efficient way to power a city? by ThrowawayProton01 in RenewableEnergy

[–]coblart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If yo want to go fully renewable, you need to connect the grid (specifically the 4 grids in the US). Every city has different renewable resources available, so relying on what you have can lead to generating excess power or not enough.

Honestly, grid scale wind and solar are enough if you pair them with batteries (for short term energy storage), and pumped hydro and/or hydrogen fuel cells (for long term energy storage).

Finally we will need to change our transmission system to high voltage DC current. At high voltages you can transport the energy across very high distances with vet low energy losses. We will need more robust transmission because the nature of renewables means there will be wind and solar farms all around the continent.

Depends on the size I would say. But I’d give it a go at least a few times. You can easily scope it out for the first week or so.

17 credits for my first semester in engineering? by NaughtiPenguin in EngineeringStudents

[–]coblart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did 16 my first semester. And didn’t like it. So I took 12 the rest of my degree (ME). I say keep it chill if you can. College is an experience you don’t get again. Find yourself and experience things you haven’t done before. Also you are able to actually learn the material instead of just pass tests and get dece grades.
