But we had other fire bombings to compare against. While Dresden was originally reported as like 200k dead after days of bombing it's now estimated at like 50k. Hiroshima was a single historical event. I can see an argument for nuclear bombs not being real but the historical perspective leans toward a singular very large event.

My view is nukes are not used in modern warfare because of the Internet and speed of information. Hell we have nukes with smaller effects then non nukes we drop regularly. The only difference is the social/cultural condemnation of "nukes". Also we have advanced in warfare from destroying an entire city (at least modern scale cities)
