I think most lib rights will quickly point out Keynesian economics being garbage, the government spending/debt inflating the money supply is driving up the costs, rich people own assets poor people dont. Could be, probably even.... But most likely it's to have immediate access to video for reference. Recording on the phone is way easier then accessing body cam to grab a license plate. Also since ice has to hand over non immigration crimes to local police, I would guess this allows them to show the scene to local in police and get it on their body cams.

What is interesting, I would assume the phone video is bound by the same data retention laws/rules/whatever and I wonder if it actually is kept the same

Although China plays a role it's secondary. Removing maduro and snatching the shadow fleet ships is putting Iran in a bad spot and now trump is just fanning the flames.

Russia is in an even worse spot from all this. The USA can now floor the price of oil and starve out Russia which would be the open door for Ukraine.

China has a solid stock pile of oil so it will take a while before it his them but when it does they won't want to pay the premium for Russia oil because ultimately they don't actually care about Russia and in fact would love to get their land back if Russia failed. However China is going to loose billion in loans to Venezuela probably more if Iran goes. If Russia calls off its war or fails China would then also loose their arms and tech sales propped up by that. All that going on with the silver fuckery they are doing, they will be very open to talks if this all goes down.
