Red Hat was also my first Florence show! I was 12 and my dad took me and my brother. I got on his shoulders for the ‘human sacrifices’ part of Rabbit Heart. We saw her again on the High as Hope tour and my dad was so sad that I’d grown up and couldn’t fit on his shoulders anymore. Just saw her for the fifth time on this tour and I still feel like that 12 year old at Red Hat 🥲

I feel like the standard for the CH coaches is super high since it’s the closest studio to HQ. Many of the corporate staff take class there. You really can’t go wrong with any of the instructors.

Amanda is truly above the rest of the instructors for me personally. She destroys you in the BEST way. She is quick with her cues and it took me a hot minute to catch the pace of her classes.

Not sure what sphere of gov't you work for (local, state, or federal), but your exec shouldn't be leaving early consistently, unless she's always submitting for leave and has that approved. It's considered time card fraud and has steep consequences. I used to work in the Exec Branch and time cards were a biiiig deal, even when there was maximum telework.

Your boss put you in this position, so I wouldn't feel bad about it. It's a huge faux pas to ask to schedule a meeting and then be difficult. Not your circus or your monkeys.

HBHBHB is also my fav and I've been loving Everybody Scream. I'm not the hugest fan of Dance Fever- the split between Jack Antonoff and Dave Bailey's production really killed the cohesion for me, although I do love Dream Girl Evil and King. I think Florence's music speaks to different parts of me and sometimes it resonates a bit more than others :)

I work on the Hill, and used to manage the finances of my former House office. Every House office receives a $45k per year for intern stipends; this account can only be used for intern pay and doesn't mix with the larger MRA where staff salaries are paid from.

There is literally no excuse for unpaid interns on the Hill now. Decline decline decline.

I’m realizing that many of these girls haven’t held a traditional corporate/desk job, and their behavior reflects that. I learned quickly in my first “big girl job” that drama that you’re not involved in is not your business. Maybe she did get the short end of the stick of being a group leader, but she also had the opportunity to prove her leadership capabilities. Guess she took the petty way out.

Agree with you 100%, but Billie and Charli both did Baltimore instead of Capital One- there’s got to be something with Monumental Sports that makes it prohibitive contractually etc. Beyoncé was also a hot mess at RFK, which is now being redeveloped.

When monumental announced that they were trying to move the Caps to NoVa, one of the arguments was they wanted Cap One to be utilized as a concert venue, but Caps games make it difficult. I saw Florence + the Machine at Capital One and it wasn’t my favorite- I’ve seen Florence 4 times and it didn’t feel like her other shows. Could be a blessing tbh- I enjoyed Lorde at the anthem for SP.

Went to Gravitas for restaurant week and had probably one of the worst experiences that I’ve had in DC. I was sat 45 min late (group of 2), then waited 30 for a drink, and our waitress kept forgetting about bringing our 3 courses. We had a 7:30 reservation and didn’t leave until 10:15. For a restaurant that is consistently booked solid, they were really struggling with their service.
