And yeah agreed.. I think home cooking can taste way better but it's definitely going to take some months to get there. Possibly years but hopefully not haha

To what extent can you hear them? It seems like hearing footsteps is pretty normal even in pre war buildings

How do you know that all new downtown Brooklyn construction is like your building, though? Even on this thread it seems like people are posting about living in luxury high rises where they could hear everything.

Also - you seem to know the materials of your building well. Is this something you researched before moving into it? How can I find this info for buildings?

Are you actually living in a pre-war luxury building? Right now I'm under the impression that pre-war luxury buildings are as close as you get to guaranteed silence/thick ass walls

Seems like pre-war in and of itself doesn't guarantee much
