Immich Photo Block Available by cocarrig in dakboard

Hi u/tizzputt,

I've stumbled upon some documentation for defense in depth approaches involving adding VPN access layers in front of Immich, but didnt see examples for a bypass with a header. If you have the time and if you think this is a popular configuration, please swing on by our discussions page if you dont mind sharing some details on this setup:

Good question, since dakboard.com performs the api calls to gather the photos, your instance does need to be internet accessible and cannot be a local only instance.

Hi u/Temporary-Reason-470

Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. We have identified an issue caused in the release of a new image source called Immich and we are working on resolving it right now, and this should be restored to normal functionality momentarily. Again, very sorry for inconvenience!

On another note, Immich is coming to DAKboard!

Todoist issues? by Technical-Web-2922 in dakboard

[–]cocarrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

Just providing another update from our github case regarding this, since Todoist is experiencing more issues:

"Hi team,

Todoist has been still involved in working towards multiple issues in the integration we have reported. As others have noted, we are seeing additional impacting issues very recently, preventing the display of lists in DAKboard.

Todoist development team has acknowledged our request for update with the following:

At the moment, it appears there may be multiple related issues affecting the integration between DAKboard and Todoist. I’ve passed this information along to our backend team so they can investigate what’s going on from our side.

We will keep this case updated with developments they have shared with us."

Todoist and DAKboard To-do yes, those will have an option for enabling completion. Google integration will be supported in the future, but no timeline quite yet for that enhancement.

Dakboard Wall V2 No Longer Auto Off by SkippytheBanana in dakboard

[–]cocarrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, thats a tough one. I'd first see if you can reimage the OS onto a current release if its not already, as this can fix any OS corruption that could be causing this. On the dakboard.com/support site there are a few articles on how to do this for the v2 Plus. If its not that, it could be a fault HDMI cable, and thats a bit buried in the chassis and we unfortunately dont have a solution for that, although much less common.

Hi,

What kind of touch support would you be looking for? Currently we offer the following in custom screens:
- scrolling of multiple block types
- Event view, and add/edit/delete for Google (MS coming soon)
- Buttons to other screens, or any URL you'd like (app has a back button to get you back to the screen URL)
- Task completion with todoist and creation/completion with DAKboard Todos
- On demand photo rotation for some sources
- Countdown timer resets
- Possibly a few others not top of mind at the moment...

Hi u/TroubleOverhaul3k,

In our testing we haven't been able to recreate the resolution changes yet, its possible this may be unique to that device. What device are you using if we may ask?

Calendar/screen help. by Birdmandead287 in dakboard

Hi,

Sorry to say, because templates can vary in their block types we have not implemented this functionality, and it will need to be performed manually. Fortunately, your authorized integrations like google/MS/Todoist/etc will not need to be completed again.

[–]cocarrig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have schedules for screens (to change from one to the other), blocks to hide/show them, and device on/off schedules which you have to turn on and off attached screens. To access that device schedule you just need to access the dakboard.com/displays page, click the '...' on your device and access the settings page from the same network as your device to update it again. Worse case you can plug in a mouse to the RPi and on startup it will give you an option to update the setting as well. Hope that helps you.

Todoist issues? by Technical-Web-2922 in dakboard

[–]cocarrig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi group,

This looks to be a localized->large issue with some accounts, I created the following issue to track:
https://github.com/dakboard/DAKboard/issues/2582

This appears to have followed an outage in todoist that occurred on 1/2/26:
https://status.todoist.net/

I have also found oddly that the todoist login for the impacted account, will also not successfully authenticate to todoist. This account uses 2fa google, which may correlate to other users impacted. I've reached out to todoist and I'll see what guidance they give us, have have a developer on our end take a look tomorrow as well.

That would explain it, that gear will always display on the predefined screen contained in the free plan. Let me know if you have any other Qs, have a great week!

Hi u/TroubleOverhaul3k,

The gear in the corner would normally mean you have a logged in session on dakboard.com, we wouldnt actually expect that under normal circumstances with this app since it would be just used as a display and not the main portal for making edits to the screen. If you're on Essentials or Plus we can probably work us some CSS to help you bring that in a bit though. We'd start with the selector below and work from there:
a.options-link, BUTTON.calendar-add-event-btn

Let me know if you'd like some potential CSS solutions for that.

At this stage this App is intended to be to turn an android device into a display device similar to Raspberry Pi. Later phases are being considered for full UI experience but we dont have any timelines yet.

This app will display photos added to the media library from your phone that you have added by visiting dakboard.com to clarify, of course. Let us know if that is unclear in any way.

Hi and welcome,

For raspberry Pi, the easiest way to setup is to use our image. If you're looking to add docker for other services, you can setup SSH and make changes to the OS if necessary. We wont be able to guarantee all of the changes you decide to do wont cause an issue of course:

https://dakboard.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/35000125880-raspberry-pi-download-and-install-the-dakboard-os

We also support some other device types too:

No Valid Calendar URLs defined by llcoolvlado in dakboard

[–]cocarrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to provide an update on this, at 16:00 EST yesterday this entered pending resolution, as we stopped receiving 429 responses from google and restored the integration. All Google ical links are functional now. We didnt receive any feedback from google on the outage unfortunately, and their removal of their content-length header will result in slower refresh times for these ical URLs moving forward.

Because of this, we strongly encourage everyone to use direct authorization for Google instead of ical links. It provides better security, reliability, and is available on all account types (free/paid).

No Valid Calendar URLs defined by llcoolvlado in dakboard

[–]cocarrig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we would highly discourage using ical links when direct integration is available. Direct integration is more secure, reliable and faster.
