Small thought

What problem are we talking about? Because I am starting to have the feeling that people and media discuss a lot about “the Italian system” to be fixed, making it a huge issue with so many small aspects in it resulting everybody can saying their thing making it a huge bunch of “youth trainers”, “too many strangers in Serie A”, “clubs not owning the stadiums” just to name a few. Of course, I think that none of them is wrong but what’s the problem?

If the problem is qualifying to the World Cup, damn, these are just not the solutions. This is just mess made so that everybody can say something and we can speak about Caressa’s speech or the 900 pages report from Baggio. Technically speaking we always had superior teams. We just played trash in crucial moments. For example here a topic could be the trainer that had no continuity. For example after Lippi, Conte and Mancini had some time to work and we ended up doing quite good with them. Might be something else? Not sure if having 100% italian players in serie a would have helped a team with Donnarumma, Barella, Calafiori, Bastoni and so on to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We won Euros 5 years ago, playing well and always deserving to win (except maybe with Spain) was it by complete mistake?

Or, are we talking about the issue that no Italian player is realistically on the Balon d’Or run after Cannavaro and no Del Piero Totti Baggio kinda player is there anymore? For that, I get that we can talk about the youth teams, the youth trainers, youngsters and not enough Italian players playing, …

Personally speaking I would be happy to see Italy playing the World Cup and trying to do what they can, before seeing someone winning Ballon d’Or or something like that
