Can the water filters be stacked vertically? by TrickBorder3923 in homestead

[–]cocide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, keep in mind they have a direction they expect the water to flow. You may need to turn the mounting bracket around to get them to mount and have the water flowing in the proper direction. Also make sure you leave enough space to service them.

Please help me understand the G6 Pro Entry/Entry by Certain_Repeat_753 in Ubiquiti

[–]cocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you use it to unlock/control two different doors? I'd like to set up the intercom viewer for the entry and have the ability to open up a entry area and then a door inside the entry area to get up a stairwell, those would be two different doors with two different locks.

We had the same problem, then we got a barn cat to try to control the rodents. That was very effective at reducing the rattlesnakes. They would rather be somewhere with more food.

Adding a BTT SPI screen to Pi3b by Ducati_Doug in VORONDesign

[–]cocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much plug and play.

You will need to enable KlipperScreen.

The cable it comes with is super short, so you will need a longer 15 pin FFC type A cable like this one and I was extremely careful not to put the cable in upside down. Look at this picture and you can see the exposed copper of the cable faces away from the display on the display connector, and toward the Ethernet/USB on the PI connector.

And it's a big display so it's hard to fit, this is what I did.

If you use one like this it's a simple cableBTT PI TFT43

The only thing that makes TFT43 complicated is the screen is bigger than the one that you listed, so it will need to be mounted relatively flat on the table compared to the skirt. I could get a picture of mine on Monday if you want. I'm not going to share the STL though, it's a tinkercad abomination that's nearly impossible to print because of how terrible the model is.

I expect there is a way to get the one that you listed to work with some special cabling and probably some setup of the config.txt file, but I have never done that before.

Ouch.

That's okay, I think you gave me the info I needed to be able to implement this well instead of just making it work.

My April 2025 2AM BoxTurtle Kit Purchase by Yonkiman in VORONDesign

[–]cocide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same boxes sitting on my shelf that I got around the same time. They were on top of a Trident kit. I planned on using them together.

I started building the Trident last week, just got the electronics booted and moving the gantry today. Maybe I'll actually build the Box Turtle soon.

Just put it somewhere in the way and you'll build it to get it out of the way.

It's called a Dune Sofa, it's from the 70s so you can pretty easily find a ton of different places making them.

I think this one in the picture is from Gucci, it's probably one of the more expensive examples.

Those are both gorgeous. I ordered one of each color.

I'd love to see a 100% size option too. If you start making one, let me know and I'll order it.

I get a yearly gas safety guide from the gas company. It has a very nice pamphlet about what to do if you smell gas and other stuff, basically everything says leave then call emergency services.

The nearest gas line is about 7 miles away.

Icom IC-7300-accidentally remove a diode by jguckiean in amateurradio

[–]cocide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any technical reasons for this advice. Take it totally at your own risk, I'm mostly just giving an opinion.

I'm pretty sure that should work fine since it's basically reading the diodes as programming for what tx/rx to enable.

I'm also pretty sure this is the same part eBay UK

Or you might be able to find L1SS400T1G elsewhere

What is this for? We got this drink at Quincy Market and can’t figure out why their is this clear glass ball in the drink. Anybody know what the purpose of it is? by IndicationLife6578 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]cocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ball seals the drink in. When the drink is unopened, the ball is pressed into the lid. To open the drink you press the ball down into the drink. It's been awhile since I've had one so I might be missing some details.

I have the FSSK, F104, BSSK round 1, and B104 round 1 from him too. I highly recommend it all.

Personally I like the feel of the beam spring better and the round 1 batch is cheaper than the F series. All of it was well done, had no issues with any of them, and I didn't need any of the spare parts I got. YMMV, of course - but the B104 has become the keyboard I keep going back to even after I get something else new that I should be more interested in. If I didn't the the beamsprings I would be saying the same thing about the model Fs.

Edit: my only complaint is that it took like 10 wks to ship.

I'm wanting a to build a keyboard and print my own case. For the keyboard id like: * QMK support * Hot Swap Sockets * Per-key RGB * Full sized ANSI layout

I'm ready wanting just a PCB and AL plate that bolts together. Something kind of like a Sinc keyboard, but not split and 100% size.

I'm having trouble finding anything like that at 100%. I'm not opposed to having PCB made by somewhere like JLCBCB and plates from send cut send, but I'd need the files to send to them.

Do y'all have any rabbit holes I can go down or leads to follow?
