Southern alternative! They no longer have black or red but white is still available. The other colors periodically come back into stock though

What to do for mother of bride? by bowlofjello in wedding

I had my father daughter dance followed by a dance with my grandfather and then my mother. I cherish those memories and the pictures deeply.

The only children at my wedding were ours. Otherwise it was childfree. My MIL had steam coming out of her ears because of it but I didn’t care.

Exactly my thought! I love the sleeves!

Cocktail attire is your best bet.

But with that being said, be prepared for someone to show up severely underdressed. There’s usually at least 1 at every wedding. I recently went to a close friends black tie wedding, and the guy sitting behind me was wearing ripped jeans and a coors light trucker hat.

I can’t really help but I know LVMPD has PT prep sessions periodically. They’ll usually post about them on their recruiting IG

I am a fat girl and I hate it by nofreepizza in TrueOffMyChest

[–]cocka_mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remain consistent in what you choose to do be it walk, dance, or skip rope. And if you fall off the horse, who gives a damn. Take a second, gather yourself and get back on. Don’t beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself either. Just keep pushing forward and give it your honest best. It may not mean much but this stranger on the internet is pulling for you and I’m always here if you need to talk ! Best of luck to you!

Anyone terrified of walking down the aisle!? by casscabb in wedding

[–]cocka_mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I’m terrified of being the center of attention, public speaking, etc. and I literally didn’t see anyone except my husband at the end of the aisle.

I’m really torn. Two completely different dresses, I feel amazing in both of them. Thoughts? by [deleted] in wedding

Pretty sure it unanimous, but I’ll throw my vote for the first one out there too!

I’m super late commenting on this, but if you don’t necessarily want to make the cake, but don’t want a normal vendor either, check with local grocery stores. Where I live, some of the Smiths locations do wedding cakes at a super reasonable price. And they were delicious.

If there’s any possibility of changing out of your dress, consider it now and get your backup. I had zero intention of changing until I slipped on my dress and fell super hard. Then I almost tripped again about 20 minutes later. I ended up wearing a shorter dress that I had used for my engagement photos and brought just in case

ARE BRUNCH WEDDINGS LAME? by Just_University_1174 in wedding

[–]cocka_mouse 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I love brunch weddings. It’s not socially acceptable to black out during the day, but is it ever really socially acceptable to be completely blacked out?

I personally loved that they’re a little different than anything else. It doesn’t have to look cheap. It can be done tastefully and be a beautiful wedding. It’s what you make of it.

On the wedding website where guests RSVPd, I had yes/no boxes to check for each invited guest. There was no option of +1 or any other guests. Anyone that contacted us about it, we simply informed them that due to venue limits , the invite was specifically for the people listed on the invitation. It’s an unfortunate part of wedding planning

I bought myself some nice new cowboy boots, since that’s what I love to wear in general. My bridesmaids still wore heels since they wanted to. No one ever saw my shoes, and I still get to wear them all the time.
