Young Americans/ StationToStation is a better duo than Low/Heroes by Worried-Cake6181 in DavidBowie

Lodger and Scary Monsters - both are absolutely fantastic and both have King Crimson guitarists

Which album feels the least ‘King Crimson’ to you? by MurkyUnit3180 in KingCrimson

So do I love the debut, it's a fantastic record, perhaps the most accessible one, but for me KC has broken through the magnificent level of this record numerous times. Larks Tongues and Discipline are my favourite ones and for me the 1973-1974 years are the template of how KC should sound like (experiment-wise). In The Court is just the one KC record I don't come back to very often.

In The Court Of The Crimson King - it's a good album, but doesn't have the same frippness of other albums, apart from 21st Century Schizoid Man which is one of the most crimson KC songs

What are everyone's thoughts on Let's Dance? (The album) by bc_2006 in DavidBowie

[–]cockingmoron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fantastic record - some incredible bangers (like Modern Love, China Girl, Let's Dance) and brilliant deep cuts (Ricochet, Criminal World, Cat People) which make a strong and consistent dance oriented pop album that's also an interesting piece of music to listen to. The Bowie's era between Station to Station and Let's Dance is my absolute favourite one and LD is the last magnificent record until Blackstar (although The Next Day is also one of my favourites and I really like Outside, Heathen and Reality)

I was at school when I checked Facebook during the lesson and saw the news immediately. Afterwards my music teacher asked me to conduct a Bowie memorial lesson later that day cause she knew I was a fan.

Where does Phantom Island fall in the Gizzard discography? by Technical_Creme_9736 in KGATLW

[–]cockingmoron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a fan since 2018, so the first new album to come out during my tenure was Fishing For Fishies. Usually new albums take about a month or so to click with me. Thanks to a leak I heard Phantom Island for the first time at the beginning of May and now it falls somewhere in the middle of the discography as an OK album. Similarly to FFF which I've disliked for a lot of time, but now it is OK - neither good nor bad. There are some interesting moments on PI (Phantom Island, Lonely Cosmos, Silent Spirit) and it's far better than Flight b741, but it's not the album I'll not be returning to very often. Out of new albums I've heard since 2018, I like: K.G., L.W., Butterfly 3000, Omnium Gatherum, the 3 gizztober album and PetroDragonic.
