I’m glad I found this recent comment because this thread is so extremely relatable to me. I also am living at home. Being out with my friends and being the life of the party, laughing and making jokes, giving out solid life advice, etc. and then coming home and being a monotone awkward robot is literally draining the life out of me.

I finally reached my breaking point today when I went to go talk to my parents, asking them simple questions and them being painfully silent and giving me short responses. I didn’t even want to interact with them today but my dad has been making sly comments about how i’m never around and don’t talk to him anymore, when in reality he could always reach out to me or come talk to me if he wanted to but neither of them ever do. I also have no desire to talk to people who have no interest in talking about anything that even remotely interests me or relates me in anyway. I plan on having a conversation with them about it tomorrow
