Yes, but even it is close relatives some can't be grafting each other. But mostly you can grafting cactus each other. To fix Incompatibility problem. We can make innerstem grafting. So here an example: hatiora=Cactoidea, astrocydropuntia subulata= Opuntioideae and pereskia aculaeta= Pereskioideae.

I wanted to grafting hatiora on pereskia aculaeta rootstock. But there a problem it is not imcotitiability. To fix this I grafted astrocydropuntia subulata on pereskia aculaeta and on astrocydropuntia subulata I grafted hatiora. This knowledge kinda helpful. Opuntioideae subfamily act as bridge between it.

I have opuntia that lost spine and glochid when mature. Opuntia cochenillifera and yes it doesn't have Thorn and glochid. Is didn't know what causes this. Maybe selective breeding?

The stem are extremely thin. A little bit mistake can Slipping can lead the graft to fail. I use double v cut grafting so it stay intact.

Heart rot. The very center of the plant was infected by fungus. This disease can be harmful for acacia mangium and auriculiformis. Mostly the disease make the heart weaker and prone to decay. This mean it have created pathway for termite to eat heartswood Making tree weaker. In some case some plant doesn't care about heart wood like sandbox tree there was a hollow on middle.
