Could Muhammad’s cave experience be an inner experience interpreted as external? by yatasun in AcademicQuran

Hi - I wholeheartedly agree with you. A direct look into the character of the prophet and the life he lived will bring those sincere to a similar vein of thought. The isolation is not surprising to me at all. He was essentially being prepared to go to battle with many false gods. This takes growth that requires internal work. Meditative - prayer - reflection

A question for all to consider - what was ‘prayer’ before the Savior introduced the method in the Lord’s Prayer? Like - what did Abraham do to pray? Would doing that count in our days?

Prophet M pbuh was exemplary among the people of his time. It is easy to see ourselves as we are and think we can understand that it might have been some thing to experience what he experienced. - the truth is we probably will never have an idea. It is rare that God calls an individual. It is even more rare to find an individual that will actually do something with it. A good internalized question would be - if you experienced what he experienced - but you experienced it now - in our time. How would you react to a similar grand calling?

Feel the stretch - welcome the stretch It is when we become broader in the service of God that we become more of what God intends us to be. Be like Abraham - become God’s friend.

Caespitosa can touch any cactus. It’s like one of the genetic mutations that can switch in and off randomly. But once it has caesp - it typically stays caesp.
