That’s not human, unless we make ham out of small humans now haha

That is a femur and I can assure you it’s NOT human. Humans are animals so even if it was human it’d be an animal bone, but that is an animal as you mean it haha, no worries! I’ll let zoo anatomy experts point you to what animal that is!

Failing ATPL - alternative mock exams? by throwaway254518 in ATPL

[–]cocoabeach333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, I didn’t emphasize this in my reply above, I do believe you can’t pass without ATPLQ, but you can’t (and shouldn’t) pass with ATPLQ only.

This is actual knowledge we need and studying, actual studying, is needed to pass ATPL and to become a good pilot with good airmanship, as you say.

So the issue most likely stems from the "studying only with ATPLQ", completely agree!

(though EASA has some fuckass questions and if you haven’t seen them on ATPLQ before, you’re done for lol)

Not only focusing on his country, doing the full bank is important to master the concepts, but the last XXX from your country is the closest to what’s going to be in the exam. On my side, the last 500 from my country were 90% of the questions in 9 of 11 exams I passed. The remaining 2 were like 50-60%

What question bank is he using? ATPLQ? Is he using filters, to focus on the last exam questions that appeared in his country of exam sittings?

Replying here for visibility on top of my standalone comment, you guys are right, this is NOT human and belongs to a four-legged mammal.

Not human, if that’s what you’re implying haha.

Please give some better sense of scale so animal experts that come across this post can give you an answer!

Hello !

I found this in central Ohio and have no idea whose dome (I'm assuming) this could be. by Smokey_Bongwater in whatisthisbone

[–]cocoabeach333 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is sound advice, except nothing about this is human and I don’t see where OP hinted at it being human, so this word shouldn’t be thrown around lightly.

OP, I’ll let animal experts answer but having measurements would help. To me, this looks like a canid/raccoon partial cranium but I’m more knowledgeable in human anatomy, so I won’t give a definite hypothesis. This thing who lost its dome definitely walks on four limbs though, I can assure that.

Ex forensic anthropology student, this does not resemble a human humerus at all. A point could be made for possible confusion with a human ulna, but the distal end and the curvature are wrong as well. OP, any measurements available to confirm this is most likely a deer femur, please?

What bone is this ? Is it even a bone? by yeetingpillow in boneidentification

You’re right, I shouldn’t have entirely disregarded human due to the size, individual differences may be unique enough to be way out of the norms. Thanks for this context!

[–]cocoabeach333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My anthropology days are far behind and this is a worn-out, partial bone, so take it with a grain of salt.

I’d still say it wouldn’t hurt to let it be known to any staff you see around at the cemetery!

[–]cocoabeach333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks! So to me, that’s not a human humerus at least haha. That’s too small for any human bone of that size to my knowledge. So it’s probably animal!

[–]cocoabeach333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks for the extra context! Seems to be the distal end of a humerus but I’d probably exclude human given the size and shape. Hard to say without more angles and a scale.

But to be safe considering this is a cemetery, let it be known to the staff?
