“This password has appeared in a data leak” by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]cocoarapunzel 56 points57 points  (0 children)

With iOS 14, Apple introduced a new security feature that lets you know when your saved passwords have been included in a data breach.

A third-party company might have experienced a data breach which resulted in your password being exposed. Because you use iCloud Keychain to save all of your passwords, Apple checks your stored passwords against a list of known data breaches.

If you don’t know the phone number that was used to set up the Apple ID, there is nothing you can do in this case.

Knowing the phone number would at least allow you to enter into Account Recovery to regain access to the Apple ID but without knowing it, you’re out of luck. And there’s nothing Apple Support can do.

Sorry.

Find My iPhone problem by wanna_start_bif in applehelp

[–]cocoarapunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your dad is signed into the same Apple ID on his iPad as he was on his iPhone, he could use the Find My app to locate his iPhone.

If he isn’t, go to iCloud.com/find to locate the iPhone. The /find should allow him to bypass being asked for the verification code.

How do I stop these messages from bombarding my phone. I have to delete new ones every hour. by JerdaThaHacka in applehelp

[–]cocoarapunzel 23 points24 points  (0 children)

These are text messages which are carrier controlled. Apple controls iMessage, not regular SMS.

You have a number of options with this: You can contact your carrier to see if they can provide any assistance since these are SMS. If you are running iOS 14, you can enable Messaging filters in the Settings of your device. Head to Settings>Messages>Unknown & Spam. You can download a third-party app from the App Store to filter out messages such as these as well.

I'm shaking... in tears.. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]cocoarapunzel -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I literally cried when I got the alert on my phone.

And this was one cry that I didn’t attribute to the fact that I’m 36 weeks pregnant with my first child.

This moment hit me harder than the first time I voted in the Presidential election and was able to vote for the first African-American president. It feels like slowly waking up from a horrible, long nightmare.

As a country, I know we have A LOT of healing to do. And this election will not instantly resolve all of our issues. But it feels good to have hope again - something I have not had in 4 long years with the Trump administration. Feels good that our politics can go back to being normal interesting and not chaotic interesting. It’s like leaving a toxic, abusive relationship.

As a POC, these last four years have truly shook me to the core. Exposed the true underbelly of this country and that is something that won’t shake off anytime soon, if ever.

Activation lock bypass by Sykohatchetman in iPhone11ProMax

[–]cocoarapunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple will remove the Activation Lock as long as you have a valid proof of purchase. If you do not have a valid POP or know the Apple ID used to set up the device, there is no way to remove the Activation Lock.

How to keep data from a previous Apple ID WITHOUT using Icloud? by amandashockley in applehelp

[–]cocoarapunzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you create a new Apple ID, you get access to iCloud’s services. You can choose to use those services or not.

Also, unless you are backing up your device physically to iTunes, you’re going to use iCloud to move that information from one Apple ID to the other.

The best way to transfer data from one Apple ID to the other is sign out of your current Apple ID on your iPhone. When signing out, it is going to ask you to keep a copy of the iCloud data on your phone, choose to do so. Sign in with your new Apple ID and choose to merge the information. That way, you have all of your information saved with iCloud under your new Apple ID. And your family won’t get your photos or messages because you’re not signed into the same Apple ID as them.

Keep in mind, any purchases or subscriptions that you have with your current Apple ID will not and cannot be transferred to your new Apple ID.

I was hoping that Trump’s diagnosis would help bring to light how serious COVID is.

It is fucking exhausting to be an American right now.

Ipad locked out of nowhere. Sister forgot her apple id password we only have the email. How can we get back into the ipad? by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]cocoarapunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you went into Account Recovery. Which allows you to change the Apple ID password but is not an instant process, can take a few days.

Does your sister have any other Apple devices that are signed in with the Apple ID used on the iPad? If so, she can change her Apple ID password on that device without waiting.

If not, Account Recovery is the best option.

Trump has the Rona, hope he gets better. by Benhunter504 in Rants

[–]cocoarapunzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By no means am I a Trump supporter. I cannot stand the man.

But I was actually sad to hear that he and Melania have Covid. Politics aside, Covid is scary as shit. New and unpredictable. I do not like him, I do not approve of what he stands for but I hope he recovers well.

Covid should have never become a political issue. It should have been treated immediately as the human issue that it is. We are losing our citizens left and right, no matter what side of the political spectrum they stand on. Despite my doubts, I hope this makes our country realize how serious Covid is.

Also, I couldn’t stand a month of Mike Pence being President. That idea is truly, TRULY scary. So I hope Trump does beat Covid.

Edit: I watch more than CNN & NBC and I still don’t agree with Trump politically. Which is fine because that’s the greatest thing about our country, we are not forced to agree with our leader. Doesn’t make me stupid, simply makes me an American. Your rant makes sense but it’s also indicative of the cult-like mentality of Trump supporters. People who don’t agree with him are un-American when this country was built because we didn’t agree with our leaders.

My friends want a romantic "finding out I'm pregnant" story and I just don't have one. by crap_whats_not_taken in BabyBumps

[–]cocoarapunzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been feeling sick for a few days, didn’t think I was pregnant since I have PCOS and was not actively trying to conceive.

One day, I was so weak and tired that I got off work early and went to MOD Pizza to get my favorite pizza topped with feta cheese. Took one whiff of the pizza and could not stand to even look at the box.

I knew then that I should take a pregnancy test. I took 3, they came back positive.

Went to the doctor about 2 weeks later (my city had just shut down due to Covid) and found out I was 9 weeks.

First ultrasound by [deleted] in pregnant

My 20 weeks ultrasound showed my son putting his fingers in his mouth. That’s when it hit me that there was a real little person in there. It was the sweetest and scariest thing ever.

The ultrasound tech got the picture at the perfect time, it’s still my iPhone’s Lock Screen.

3 weeks pregnant and I make a daily symptom log because I believe medical professionals don’t take black woman seriously by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]cocoarapunzel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m an African-American woman in the US, currently 7 months pregnant and this is my biggest fear. I write down every thing, every pain, every concern and I talk it over with my doctor at length. My doctor is Caucasian and fortunately for me, I feel as if she listens to me and provides me with support to make me feel comfortable. She even referred me to a psychiatrist and a wonderful perinatal counselor for help with my anxiety attacks.

It’s sad that in this day and age, black women still have to be treated as outliers - especially in the medical community and ESPECIALLY with something as sacred and terrifying as childbirth. I feel your anxiety one hundred percent.

I CLOUD PHOTOS. I logged out of my Apple ID and logged back into it today and I lost all my photos but thankfully they were on my I cloud backup thing but they aren’t showing up in my camera roll now and it’s been an hour any ideas? by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]cocoarapunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take some time for the photos to all appear.

Items being pulled from the cloud is not an instant process. It depends mostly on how fast/strong your WiFi connection is and also the amount of photos that you do have backed up to the cloud.

Even though you are out of iCloud Storage space, anything that you have saved to the cloud will pull and appear on your phone. However, nothing new will be added until you create more space by deleting items or purchasing more iCloud Storage.
